  • New store signifies a renewal for M&Co under AK Retail Holdings ownership.
  • Special opening offers include a £5 discount for early customers.

Newton Mearns, Scotland, will witness the resurgence of fashion retailer M&Co with the grand reopening of a store on May 3, 2024. This event marks a significant turnaround since the brand's collapse into administration last year, leading to the shuttering of all its locations.

Previously located in the same spot, the new store represents a fresh start for the company under the guidance of AK Retail Holdings, which acquired the chain in May 2023. Sandra McPherson, head of retail for M&Co, expressed excitement about the relaunch: “We are thrilled to welcome back our loyal customers in-store. This expansion symbolises our commitment to bringing stores back to the high street and connecting with customers. I look forward to personally welcoming customers back on the opening day.”

James Flanders at The Sun reported that the Newton Mearns store will offer an enhanced shopping experience with a wide range of contemporary clothing available in UK sizes 8-20, including the M&Co petite range. The opening is also expected to generate six new jobs and will feature enticing incentives for the first 50 customers, such as a £5 voucher off a £25 purchase.

Andrew Killingsworth, chief executive of M&Co, highlighted the store's significance: “The opening of our Newton Mearns store embodies our commitment to both the Scottish heritage of the brand and investment of our valued customers. We know how valued in-store shopping is, and we hope this store brings excitement for future store openings.”

Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, "The reopening of M&Co in Newton Mearns is a positive step for both the local economy and for consumers looking for quality, accessible fashion. It's a great example of how retail is adapting and evolving to meet customer needs in changing times."
