95 Year Old Woman in Court Dispute over Neighbour Hanging out His Washing
Ask a Question
With everything going on in the world this dispute seems to me to be rather petty
The woman, who's father was a judge is trying to stop her neighbour, the Rev Canon Prof Richard Burridge from hanging out his washing in the apartments communal area
It is costing thousands going through the courts , but she is willing to go all the way
You are not allowed to hang washing on the balconies but he found a loophole where he could erect 2 rotary washing lines in the communal garden, which is allowed under the lease
She is objecting as everyone passing on a bridge opposite can see his smalls drying in the wind , and she says its not very nice to see
He says its better than drying his washing inside as it could cause damp and other issues
Despite being allowed she objected again and there will be another court case with further costs
Do you think she is being petty and should he be allowed to dry his washing outside ?
Maybe he should have bought himself a tumble dryer to avoid all this
Leannexxx Nothing L , but try telling this old woman that
She has serious issues about it for one reason or another and this could cost her £10,000 or more in court costs and he might possibly claim damages off her too for harassment
She must have more money than sense to waste on this
Sounds like the Rev found a loophole so she’ll be paying all legal costs. Often flats have nowhere to dry washing so have to use a tumble dryer.
Probably thinks she is privileged and everyone is beneath her, he obviously did his homework with regards to the loophole, she has no case this is a waste of time, some old people are just nasty & vindictive
martinlufc5637 She might have had a judge for a father M, but her judgement is none existent
Clothes always smell.better when aired on an outside line .I wouldn't mind gazing at the vicar's smalls lol. There's nothing quite like a little humility dotted about the place.
She's being petty. I stick mine on the balcony when I can to dry. It's quicker and better for the environment
What a ridiculous thing to be so upset over, she should donate that money to a worthy cause rather than making a mountain out of a molehill.
Why are people just so horrible to one another what sad times we live in when a man can't even hang out his washing
By her age you'd think she'd have learned some life lessons. Speaking for myself I find I have become kinder and more tolerant as I get older.
I can't imagine being so rich that I would be willing to spend thousands of pounds to take someone to court over something so ridiculously pointless!
