I try to keep it similar to every year tbh. I set a budget for both my kids so they get spent on the same amount and shopping the same with a little bit of allowance either way for shopping

We don't do a big Christmas shop like some, yes we buy the odd extra item but not much, we just shop as normal

martinlufc5637 ...We just buy a few extras on top of our normal shop too,no point buying loads as the shops are open next day & we aren't big drinkers. My partner & I are working Christmas Day at different ends of Sheffield supporting our service users, same company, different Management..

janphoenix51 we don't treat Christmas any different to normal, we go out for Christmas dinner and we're not big drinkers either

I never spend a lot but I don’t buy rubbish. I try to think of the person what they would like and shop around for the best price. I tend to limit to £10-£15 per person. I don’t have too many to buy for and we are all older. Only 3 children left in family and now 10 and over. It’s very different to past Christmases.

We are spending less on presents. 8 of us on Christmas day and have agreed no more than £25 per present. Previously there was no limit and it was ridiculous trying to keep up with each other.

We will spend about the same on presents, food will probably be a bit more expensive due to everything going up.

We never go overboard at Christmas anyway, we have a set budget for presents and food and I don't go over it.

I spend the same on each of my lot, this year I've already spent over £600 on my son as he's getting a North Face jacket, a couple of Berghaus hoodies and tee shirts and a pair of Nike Air Max 95's I'll also get him a few pairs of socks and boxers a bottle of aftershave and if he's lucky I'll give him a few quid to spend in the sales, I've also spent a couple of hundred each on clothes for my 3 daughters and will look to get the rest in over the next 2 weeks, as for food, I never go over the top.

Our daughter has told my partner & I that she doesn't want us spending a lot on her because for her 26th birthday in September we have paid for her to go to Roland Garros Tennis Tournament in Paris next May along with her Da.I don't like Tennis

My partner & our daughter are away the day after my 60th so we will celebrate that then they go day after while I will be at Bramall Lane watching Paul Heaton, Lightning Seeds & Shed Seven & celebrating my birthday with my little brother & our friends...

Spending a lot less. I'd rather put the money into trips and holidays plus my dad is having surgery new years eve so we won't be getting buffet food like we do every other year xx
