Does Your Council Do Enough Recycling?

Ask a Question

Do you think your council does enough for recycling?

Ours has a food waste collection which helps stop the smell in the household waste bin, but my friends in another council don't have one. And we have wheelie bins where one is for paper and another one is for plastic and tin.

We have four wheelie bins

General waste - emptied fortnightly

Cardboard & paper - emptied fortnightly

Plastics, glass, foil- emptied fortnightly

Garden/green (you have to buy both the bin and pay a charge to have it emptied) emptied fortnightly some of the time and monthly in the winter

we just have the two wheelie bins general waste and recycled collected alternate weeks. We did have a free garden waste collection so have a black wheelie bin for that. this ran for March - September I think but last year they started to charge for it so we no longer bother.

Nope they don't. I do wonder how much is actually recycled and not just put in landfill
