How Do You Manage Unwanted Emails - Delete or Unsubscribe?

Other

I keep saying to myself I am going to actually spend time and unsubscribe the emails that I am no longer interested in rather than just deleting them. I will do this for about ten minutes then get distracted cos I dont really want to be bothered. Is it just me or does everyone put this off ?

If it’s something I know I won’t be using again I will unsubscribe. The rest I just delete from my spam/trash folder.

I'm guilty of just deleting without even opening them, l then sometimes get an email saying 'we haven't heard from you', which is a pet peeve of mine..

If i see the sender and I know i wont really be interested I’m guilty of just deleting it rather than unsubscribing

I do get lots of emails especially since I’ve been entering competitions but I often just bin them. I know I should unsubscribe.

Pjran but its so much easier said than done. The bit that says unsubscribe is in the smallest print available as well !

Yes j delete ones I'm not interested in. They are from companies I've used but don't use often.

I usually just delete without opening the emails I don't want/need to read but every now and then I do unsubscribe when I have the time.

I normally unsubscribe and If they still come through I block them. Yes It takes time but I hate spam and It saves those useless emails reaching you.

Nothing nearly so satisfying as an empty e mail box. What did we ever do before e mail? It's such a time waster .Less than 5% is wanted. The rest is invariably spam.Bit like dropping our rubbish on somebody else's doorstep.I periodically unsubscribe to dozens at a time just to keep things manageable but it's like swimming against the tide.

Doesn't matter how many times I unsubscribe to some I still get them, them " we caught you looking" are annoying

I'm the same as you. Every so often I unsubscribe from a few then stop. I get a bit of FOMO as well that if I unsubscribe I might miss a great deal. I need to get better at getting rid of some

The problem I have is I have to check to see who the sender is as I do get important emails from my GP and various consultants

Because it will annoy me if I keep seeing e-mails I'm no longer interested in, I just unsubscribe 👍

Every so often I unsubscribe a dozen or so but soon get as many back as they are compulsory when entering many comps. So, every day I just go through deleting all emails unless I see the word 'congratulations' lol.

I created 'rules' (hotmail/outlook) so emails go automatically into their own folder to possibly read later, so my inbox isn't a mess and I see the important stuff, but eventually unsubscribed to most since it was getting to the hundreds in each folder... but I still haven't deleted a lot of them....

Rather than focusing 10mins/longer on unsubscribing (you must have a lot!), if I come across one that I see often and find annoying/useless when I open it, then I'd unsubscribe to that one.

Sometimes I delete a bunch (can create a rule too) and just keep the latest ones.

I done this a while back, deleting and unsubscribing, as I was going away and my daughter was dealing with my emails. I did get bored after a while but managed to clear loads of unwanted ones. Going away next week so I have got to do some more.

If you repeatedly delete a company without opening it then it's time to unsubscribe. I tend to do it once a month or so because then it gives them time to stop sending them and you don't waste time unsubscribing twice.

I only unsubscribe if they are from a company I have dealt with or know. Random emails that just turn up are deleted and blocked

Definitely not just you, been doing it for years. On occasion I’ll sit down and unsubscribe but generally just from the most persistent/annoying emailers
