Is It Okay to Work in Your Pyjamas?

Ask a Question

Is it okay to work in your pyjamas?

Surely loads of us do it since covid and working from home became more of the norm?

I'm not a fan of WFH; but when I had to because of Covid I tried to keep a similar morning routine as if I was going to the office; so I would get washed and dressed as usual - I couldn't work in my pyjamas.

I'd say no. Not a great mindset to have & could set you down a path of being lazier imo.

I think it’s important to dress for work even at home, it keeps you in a professional mindset. You still may need to go to a work building on occasions and if you get out the habit you will find it really hard to keep professional and personal separate.

No always get dressed when I get out of bed ,have done since I was a kid, my mother would only allow us to be in Pyjamas in the day if we were ill, or it was Christmas morning.

Yes I can work in my pj's. It depends on you as a person if you are the sort that needs to dress to focus then fine but I can focus if in my pj's

I don't agree with this, I think if someone is in their pyjamas they really aren't ready for a work environment, if it was acceptable then surely pyjamas would be acceptable in an office environment too!

depends where you work tbh. if you work in an office i don’t see why not, yet if you work in a restaurant serving people then probably not no.

If you are working from home why not, it doesn't stop you from working effectively. Just remember to ensure you have your camera off during online meetings, but if you need to be on camera Pjs are not the way to go 😀

I think if you are going down this root things are just going to get worse. Are people literally getting out of bed and working, are they washing and then putting pyjamas back on. Get dressed!
