What Do Ou Think of 1980s Bullseye Being Brought Back on ITV ?

Ask a Question

I remember this show in the 80s when Jim Bowen used to host it

They had some good prizes on offer at the time and it was quite unique

Now ITV want to bring it back but with Paddy McGuinness presenting it

Do you think it will still be as good with paddy or should he stick to a Take Me Out or Top Gear revival

I remember it but it’s just resurrected old stuff. Nothing is new and original any more, no one has ideas. Graham Norton is doing wheel of fortune this week. I enjoyed them in the past so would give it a go. I don’t like Bradley Walsh much but still like blankety blank.

JLouM I think its hard to get used to new hosts taking over old tv shows J, for me it rarely works, although i do like Paddy McGuinness

Loved that show back on the day, a remake wouldn't be the same

Nothing In my opinion beats the original series with Jim Bowen. I must admit I have not heard or watched the new one out and I dont Intend to either. I am old fashioned and like what I grew up with.

Loved Jim Bowen, as for Paddy McGuinness I’m not sure. Jim had some good one liners, “Look at what you could have won “ and many more quotes. It’s the same with the new Deal or no Deal, not the same without Noel Edmonds. All just jumping on the bandwagon.

A bit before my time but am familiar with the show. Kind of feel like we don’t need anymore game shows on tv but at least this is a bit unique.

I think Paddy Mcguiness is the perfect person to host it

They brought it back in 2006 with Dave Spikey as host. It was poor imo

TheChimp it was awful! Leave it in the past as nostalgia. They do one with Alan Carr but Jim is king. Often watch them on Challenge the prizes were amazing. Teasmaid, flymo lawnmower, decanters, cutlery canteens, cordless phones the dream! 😆

TheChimp I remember watching this and also remembering that it wasn’t any good. I still love watching the old ones, you can’t beat a bit of bully!

Its easy to get nostalgic for the gameshows that were on TV years ago - but many people out there wont have seen the old shows - and if they are done well they are often better. It usually depends on the host. Not a fan or Paddy or Bradly personally though - just wish ITV especially would give others a go - they might just find someone really good at it!

Loved Bullseye in the past it had a great pub atmosphere to it but I personally don't think Paddy McGuinness would that be that great as host. I think it needs careful choice of the host.

Allan Carr recently did a revamped Bullseye show as part of his Quiz Show classics series and I enjoyed that. But Allan Carr was a good host for it, personally I don't particularly like Paddy McGuniness' presenting style , so for me it would be a no. They brought Family Fortunes back and put Gino De'campo as host which I thought ruined it .

Mango4 I agree about Gino M, he always seemed a bit amateurish , but that could have been down to his english and accent

telmel Possibly his accent but as he has been in the UK ( 30 years) almost twice as long as he lived in Italy , you would think the accent would have started to wain a bit by now.

It was super, smashing and great at the time. I think if they bring it back now it will be more Bulls**t than Bullseye!

telmel Golden Shot was a great show. Can you remember the game show Take your Pick with Michael Miles in the 60's. The Yes/ No game and also take the money or open the box. When they opened the box sometimes it would be a rubbish prize and everyone would laugh. 😀

Not much to be honest, didn't like it first time around. There are so many game/quiz shows on tv. I know they give some good prizes if you manage to win but it's cheap tv. Don't like Paddy as a presenter.

Jerseydrew ha ha, I am the total opposite. Give me a good drama any day. I love stuff that improves my mind but I don't enjoy having to work out what is going on too much. I will often look up fact based films/drama and read the real true version.
