Soup & A Sandwich!
Ask a Question
Earlier today I had a ham and lettuce sandwich with chicken soup anyone else likes a simple lunch?
Too cold to eat the sandwich that I ended up dunking it into the soup lmao who else does this?
I only eat Asda or Tesco Beef & Vegetable or Chicken & Vegetable soup with wholemeal bread rolls at lunchtime only.
I had a tin of tomato soup for my lunch yesterday as it was so cold, I always dip my bread in and I cut up cheese to dip in, yummy.
eyeballkerry haha we do the same thing! Yummy and simple meal for when we canβt be bothered to cook and it warms us up fast in cold weather!!
I often do a homemade soup. However I do like a cheese toastie with Heinz tomatoe soup for a easy lunch. Best soup ever was my mams ham shank & dumpling soup. Never been able to make like hers.
Glitterandgold that sounds like a great and delicious recipe!!
I havenβt had a cheese and ham toastie for a long time lol
Yeah heating up canned soup so easy lol
Simple, tastes great but not cold - I dish up my salad in the morning and eat it later at room temperature
Cant get 2 sons to eat soup either..never have.Shame when its cheap & cheerful. And can make your own for pennies if you buy a cheap soupmaker- aldi do a good one.so do others Tower,Argos etc- cheap in the sales right now.
Chicken soup with homemade bread and a cheese toasted sandwich, but I do sometimes dip my cheese toasted sandwich in the soup
Tomotoe soup and a cheese sandwich I dunk the sandwich the cheese is lovely in the Tom soup
Aenurse1 delicious I havenβt had tomato soup in a while I like chicken mushroom or vegetable soup I got some cup a soup pack of 5 sachets at 90p from Sainbsuryβs lol itβs fast to make using boiled water and you instantly feel so much warmer especially in this freezing cold weather! Walking to supermarket wasnβt nice lol
kitty88uk bet it was not not fit to be out in....fan of cuppa soups but veggie so no chicken for me!
Sarahvwomble Omg it was freezing cold !! I should have worn knee high socks but forgot to lol but in the way back home I was much warmer!
Tried their own brand was okay I like the crispy croutons yum
I would eat either a sandwich or soup for lunch but not both together, that would be too much for me.
Oh yes love minestrone, veg, lentil. Tomato,or leek & potato soup with a cheesy or peanut butter sandwich sandwich dipped in soup now and then, delicious, fancy one now!
Sarahvwomble oh that sounds yummy oh! Iβve never thought about having a peanut butter sandwich dipped in soup before lol sounds like an odd combination which flavour soup do you have it with?
kitty88uk to be honest any of above as I really like it with anything,on sandwich etc with any fruit or salad for instance, stops it being a bit dry too.....
Anyone ever made up a cup a soup with very little water and used it as a topping for toast a sandwich or cous cous?
Sarahvwomble I just got some cup a soup from Sainsburyβs on Sunday! Vegetables one and a chicken flavour too
Ooh never thought about using it as a topping lol
You inspired me I had toast ,peanut butter and leek and potato soup, and the toast was great, even better than a sandwich!
Sarahvwomble haha Iβm craving to eat toast too! Love butter on toasted bread yummy
Bit weird but my dinner for years has always been crisp sandwich, I also like brown sauce sandwiches lol my wife thinks it's disgusting
martinlufc5637 lol that does sound odd haha to have a crisp sandwiches for dinner! I used to put cheese and onion crisps in a ham sandwich as a kid in high school have not done that since lol
Oh with brown sauce?! Like Hp sauce? With what ham?
martinlufc5637 not at all lovely! Crisp sandwich, such a good combo of crisp and soft texture!
kitty88uk yeah HP brown sauce, I have it on everything, no ham just sauce spread on bread with no butter
martinlufc5637 lol but if a tangy flavour!
Iβd have thought you put it on ham, bacon chicken slices lol just on plain bread
That is odd lol
kitty88uk yeah my Mrs thinks it's disgusting, my mum didn't like butter or margarine, she'd had toast with nothing on it lol
martinlufc5637 lol haha to each their own I guess
Oh really wouldnβt it be too dry to eat toasted bread with nothing on it?
comriegold haha go for it! Enjoy the delicious foods!! Cheese sandwiches are tasty Iβve not had broccoli soup before
Do you make the soup yourself or buy canned ones?
Sometimes if we can't be bothered to cook a proper meal after we've both been at work all day we'll have soup and rolls. We always keep some part baked rolls in the cupboard and use these. I'll have either chicken or mulligatawny soup and the men have tomato. Usually we've had a meal whilst at work, I tend to have a late lunchtime, so we find this enough.
Deansmum yes itβs the most easiest meal to have either at lunch or for dinner either heat in pot over the stove or in microwave
I had vegetables cup a soup Sainbsuryβs own brand 5 sachets for 90p! Like the croutons lol had with sausage roll and a bread end lol that was my lunch on Wednesday
