Can You Spot the Difference in These Tins of Quality Streets over the Years ?

I don't know about you but quality streets have always been one of my favourite christmas treats since i was a child
If we were lucky we would get a tin between us, sometimes a smaller box
But i was shocked when i saw the difference between these tins dating from 1980 to the present day
I have added a photo of the original tin that was sold when they first came out in 1936 and made by mackintosh
They have been made by nestle since 1988
Besides the increase in price can you spot the obvious difference ?

They are so disappointing now, we opened one this week, gone has the shinning wrappers, they just look dull in those paper wrappers now
martinlufc5637 I changed the link to the article M as i had wrongly posted another on the same page
Besides the wrappers it shows the difference between the size of the tins and the prices over the years
The original tins were massive
But as you say the wrappers are boring now and take away a bit of the magic, i suspect more so for the kids 
telmel we had a 650g one, barely anything in it, from now on we'll be changing to hero's or celebrations
martinlufc5637 Yes they are getting ridiculously small now M , if they get any shallower they will be able to post them through your letterbox

telmel Those toffee pennies are pretty soft toffee now. You have to refrigerate them just so you can get the wrappers off without leaving half the toffee on the wrapper. Also the wrappers as previously stated are a bit depressing now. They don't have the sparkle of Christmas anymore they look super bland. Nowadays I prefer Celebrations and Heroes for Christmas tub chocolates.
BonzoBanana They probably changed the recipe of the toffee B incase they got too many claims for dental treatment 
TheChimp Never been a fan of the toffee pennies or toffee fingers. And there's always too many of them.
RegularComper91 Those are my favourites by far. It's the orange and strawberry ones that get left behind in my tub and only get used when I am desperate for a chocolate fix.
I remember those large 80's ,2.5kg tins but they weren't easily affordable like the tubs today, my parents would buy them via a catalogue and pay so much per week, only had one tin at Christmas.
All chocolate tubs were much better when they were in tins and were also larger. Just not the same now.
RegularComper91 People would keep the tins for years to store things in, i know i did, and i bet the really older ones are collectible now, i doubt if the plastic tubs will be , besides i doubt if the plastic tubs are recyclable
