Weekend Telly What You Watching?

Who's watching dancing on ice? What do you think of Stephen mulhern presenting? Also who watched gladiators?
Watched a good film called Greenfingers with Clive Owen last night when friend visited, then some YouTube. Tonight watched Vera, started it late so I could full forward the ads but still caught the last lot! Have recorded Call the Midwife. Not keen on 'light entertainment '.
Lynibis oops forgot about call the midwife. Good job for catch up tv. Thanks for the reminder
I watched The Tourist but I think I’m missing something. I’m not really following the story line.
Glitterandgold yes when he was in Australia with amnesia. Apparently they wanted to record another series there again but Jamie Dorman said he didn’t want the upheaval again so they rewrote it located in Ireland.
Pjran I didn't know that. They should have maybes stuck to Australia cos tbh I prefered season 1. The ending of this season was a total let down & the storyline with the Irish garda was stupid.
I watched gladiators and dancing on ice I do like Stephen mulhern presenting it's different no so serious, gladiators I thought was good but I did love it years ago
LauraBaile94436 yeah I liked Stephen and Holly. Thought they worked well together. I liked gladiator as well. Proper cheesy
I've watched all of 15 minutes total of all series - think it's terrible. Worse now with this presenter duo and won't be watching Gladiators either because of that dodgy presenting duo I'll be catching up on Planet Earth III
Consumer I loved the new presenters I wasn't sure if I would before hand. I get some won't watch it because of the change. It can be hard yo get used to change.
As I was at work I watched Gladiators & endured the Masked Singer because my service user wanted me to watch with him & as I was on shift 10am-1am it killed a bit of time!
Gladiators was filmed in my city,Sheffield less than 3 mile from us, my partner got free tickets as he loved Gladiators when he was younger.... We went out for a meal instead of going to the filming as the organisers had allocated a lot more tickets than Sheffield Arena had capacity for,it turned into chaos!!There were people coming from all over to watch Gladiators, booking Hotels & then finding out they couldn't get to watch the filming as the venue was full!
janphoenix51 oh my gosh that's awful you expect the beeb would employ a company that would be top of their game at sorting this out
janphoenix51 Sadly a lot of these free ticket TV shows do this. They deliberately allocate more tickets to make sure that they are completely packed, I'm pretty sure it does say this in the terms and conditions when you apply for the free tickets. Which is why sadly don't enter for many.
I was recently at a comedians show and they were filming for Netflix. They were paid tickets and apparently they had 'sold out'. When we got there, half of downstairs was still empty. I'm not sure what happened, I do know some people were put off as there wasn't any breaks and doors were locked the whole time, so some people went to the toilet but weren't allowed back in. (This was stated when booking and on the tickets, but people were assuming that wouldn't be the case) So what they did, as it was being filmed, is the just shuffled everyone forward to fill the seats, it's all about how it would be perceived I'd imagine. And if they paid a lot for their tickets yet still didn't end up going, think about how many people with free tickets might do that too?
I'm sorry you didn't end up going, I hope you had a lovely night either way.
DeBunny ....I only found out about the tickets a few weeks earlier when my partner was checking my Rota to make sure I was off,he often checks my Rota for me as we work for the same company & I ask him to..
The details of the Gladiators Tickets fiasco was in our local newspaper The Sheffield Star a few days before we were due to attend so we made the decision to go out for a meal instead which we did & enjoyed that..
Saturday tuck, my sons out night time I was wallpapering
Sunday, call the midwife and the tourist and a film called Hope and Glory
We stayed in Saturday so we watched Gladiators & enjoyed it more than expected. Watched Masked Singer, Limitless & Mcintyre show. Sunday I watched 2 eps of The Tourist & Vera.
Watched a series called Kin, it's pretty good, few episodes to watch yet, and watched Napoleon movie
martinlufc5637 is Napolean any good, historic errors aside? My ex boss will be coming round to watch with me and I promised a meal. Hope it's good as I've always loved Ridley Scott films.
Yeah it's good, nearly 3 hours though, and it's far from being historically correct, all this done for entertainment purposes annoys me
I watched dancing on ice last night. Holly seemed to struggle with auto cue and why do they have to make out Stephen is stupid. I thought the scoring was all wrong. Greg was brilliant, skating on his own and lifting his partner whereas and then Amber was held by her partner the whole time and never skated on her own got higher points, did not seem fair.
Watched "127 Hours" yesterday and wow, what an excellent movie that was!
James Franco really gave his best.
We often set things up to record and then when we get a moment together we catch up with it all.
Currently watching Traitors, Castle (on Disney+) and According to Jim (on Disney+)
We did start watching Dancing on Ice but I'm not sure if we will continue, we always try and never usually get very far with it. Gladiators is probably more my partner's thing than mine, it's too forced and child like for me.
