For less hassle and more peace of mind, we always recommend installation by a gas safe certified engineer.

You can choose to have it set up by our trusted installation partner, British Gas. It’s really straightforward: a certified British Gas engineer will bring your kit and set everything up for you, usually within an hour. They’ll also show you how to use it so you can get started straight away.

Just remember they'll need access to your boiler, broadband router (you'll need a spare Ethernet port) and a spare power socket near your router.

You can set up Hive Active Heating yourself, but you’ll need to be comfortable with wiring a receiver box into your boiler.

Our wireless thermostat can be fixed to a wall in your home or you can choose to get a stand for it, so you can move it wherever works for you.
