Colouring Books for People with Anxiety Depression and Bpd.

has anyone given these colouring books aimed at the above people ? ive been offered them off my psychiatrist to help with all the above saying its a fab way to relax and calm ur breathing down also to help control self harming ,.. tbh im not very good with anything crafty even if its just colouring for relaxation ... i get stressed even more if im concentrating and trying my best and i go out the lines .. now that would make me stressed annoyed and aggreivated so ive told them they aint for me ... but id love to know if anyone has tried them and found out if they help ... thanks

I use these very frequently when life gets a bit busy and stressful recently started yoga too both of which I thought were nonsense but starting to see results with the yoga mentally and physically. But back to these colouring books, I often use these and they help you don’t need to stay in the lines sometimss I do them at night with a lamp and look at them in the morning and they look like Picasso’s been at them. They’re just a really good way to focus your mind onto something that isn’t life. It’s not for everyone I’m sure but they help me 😁

im glad u answered x ive been toying with idea of trying them but because i cant concentrate for a lng time it just puts me off the idea x one thing i hate is starting something and cba finishing it then i get annoyed with myself and more then likely end up self harming ... i might leave it another few weeks of sessions ith the councellor im under and then give them a try if i feeling more relaxed ... thanks lauren958 for the honest reply xx

I know what you mean@DarrenHelsby I can be a bit of a perfectionist and don't like it I'd I don't get a good result in a project. With colouring I sometimes have music on or someone else colouring the picture with me so it's less intense. Also you can divide the picture up into sections and say just colour a quarter of it at a time. I hope you found a way through.

Hi jojo I do colouring it helps me. I buy my books.i love doing it. It's rest full and it takes your mind off things. After you can frame them . At the monment I am doing a canvas one. And another thing I do is knit, sew and make this I also do cross stitch has well. All these are rest full. And takes your mind off things. It's helped me get though bad days after losing my dad. 🦄🦄

nicola jojo been for her teeth out today x shes in pain and off to sleep x i was going to say i could knit n hve a giggle but then though nooo lol ... hope ur doing ok and that man of urs is looking after u ... she will be on at some point tomorrow coz shes hopefully got something to tell u xx
