Ask a Question

All the big supermarkets have had a sale on their veg the last few Christmas’, but does anyone know what date it starts from?

Normally between 5-7 days before Christmas depending on the store.

I think Sainsburys veg offers start about the 18th December and Lidl start the 19th. Hopefully all supermarkets will announce their dates soon.

Usually the week before Xmas day. Most of the supermarkets will try to outdo each other

I would say normally in the last few days before Christmas day, supermarkets need to get rid of the stock, or unless there is a supermarket price ear but I doubt that

PayItForward it would be great if supermarkets can do this more often not just for Christmas season, saving money no food waste and it just helps everyone with their grocery shopping

Oh this is a really good question! I always forget about the sale, benefited once or twice just from being there but it would be nice to intentionally go xx

It is usually between 5 to 7 days before Christmas so either the 18th, 19th or 20th. I always buy my veg a few days beforehand anyway so usually benefit from the cheaper prices.

MrsCraig that’s what I’m planning on doing. I like to freeze some veg after I’ve prepped it for the freezer

Usually in the last week before Christmas. The supermarkets have gotten super competitive lately so who knows this year.

It's normally about a week before Christmas, will definitely be buying. They are so much cheaper, and as they say every little helps.

LyndaSarrington I know. It’s such great value. I buy loads of bags of onions, chop and freeze them. We go through a bag of chopped onions a week lol

It won't be too long until it starts and I am looking forward to it because I get quite a few of each veg that can be frozen and used later. 😆
