Do You Feel Safe Where You Live?

I did but ever since they have opened loads of bars it's attracting the wrong people there has been 12 breakins in the last few months that's home and cars everything is getting stolen from your garden or your getting mugged

Unfortunately not. not the weekend gone but the one before there was a double stabbing literally 15 seconds from my front door

I feel safe where I live but I still wouldn't go walking at night, especially on my own. I have only ever walked at night once by myself, fastest I have ever walked in my life and I lived in the safest part of town.

It’s pretty low on crime here except for occasional break ins and shoplifting.

Iv lived here all my life, so know the people and areas to avoid well. I often walk my dog when it's dark in the evenings, but do tend to stick to the busy roads.

On the whole yes. I live above shops and the owner of the area doesn't care as they own it for tax and investment reasons and the actual land is worth the money. We've empty shops and it's tatty looking. The flats above the shops are privately owned. Had comments from people we should be forced to move out so it can be knocked down cos they look awful. The flats are looked after though. It's dangerous not from a crime point of view but because it's not well maintained and walking up and down the stairs early morning or night can be dangerous as the lights often don't work. I'm constantly on at the management company to sort. I've lived where I do all my live and know where to avoid and know a lot of people. Crime is often hidden where I am as the government wants to attract tax dodgers so advertise us as perfect. We don't have much violent crime in the street but it happens

I was in London a month ago. I was worried before I went and felt so safe. I was surprised not been to London in 7 years so was worried

Although my area is not aesthetically pleasing I have not been aware of any problems in the 17 years I have lived here. My neighbour told me her car had been broken into but I was not aware at the time.

I was walking about in Yeovil at about 2-3am a while back and didn't feel at risk but you never know. What surprised me is I passed quite a few women, one of which was either drunk or on drugs and could not walk normally. Surely she was at great risk that time of night. I feel like Yeovil probably sits in the middle when it comes to crime in national rankings. There are places much better and places much worse. I don't feel too at risk myself but maybe that is just my own stupidity and not understanding the risks.

I do and i don’t just because of how the world currently is and how crazy it is. It’s my kids i fear most for having to grow up in this world and how it currently is

I do feel safe but I think that's because I try not to let fear impact my life. If i fancy going for a walk around my local park at 2am I will because why shouldn't I be able to. Think it's very different as a man than a woman though

Me and MrsChimp moved where we are now from a big town over 20 years and there's been next to no crime except for the local youth vandalizing the kiddie's playground and public toilets every so often. I wouldn't be overly worried if MrsChimp wanted to walk Harvey the woofer at night though

I feel fairly safe in daylight hours, but would not want to go out at night, and definitely not on my own. Being a disabled pensioner, I wouldn't stand a chance.

Not anymore, I’d say up until a few years ago, I wouldn’t have even thought about it (pre 10pm) and I would have no worries if it was a dark or daylight evening. We have had people being attacked in broad daylight around 7.30 (summertime) on a main road route and on our network of paths. An one off for me earlier this month as I was attending a work event and knew I would have a couple of drinks I was waiting for the bus back from town and I have to say I didn’t feel particularly safe as I had a bit of a wait and it made my nervous. The short bus journey was horrendous too, as there were a couple of loud mouth drunks on it (they’d already dropped a bottle so it was all over the floor everywhere on the bus) I was glad to get off. If it hadn’t been dark. The short walk from the stop to my house, I did feel ok this was 8.30pm and everywhere is lit up and it was just my road thankfully.

It’s a shame that I didn’t feel I could do the 25 minute walk from town but the crime in the town has gone up.

I’m lucky i feel very safe we’re I live and I’m often out at night or early morning walking the dog

My neighbor is my Godmother so I've told her if she ever needs/wants me to accompany her when it's dark that I don't mind it. I care about her safety.
