I think it's a good idea. Something clearly has to be done to stem the tide of single use plastic being dumped.

My question is where to do we take the bottles to get the money back? I don't drive, so I can't see me on the bus with bags full of bottles. To me this will be just another tax.

Very fair point made ShellyAnn - I would imagine most supermarkets would be a good place to put them?

lizzie95xx there's a tesco metro I can walk to (about 15 mins walk from my house), but all others are in town and those are metros too apart from Asda, which is a superstore, but that is one stop away from town, so I would be on the bus with a load of tote bags full of bottles, then I would have to walk into town from Asda. I don't see me doing it. Mum drives so unless I give her the bottles and she takes them in the car when she does her shops. I use online shopping for food.

When I lived in Sweden approximately 11 years ago they had a scheme where you'd simply get a small fraction of money back per bottle recycled you'd see many people raiding bins in the streets collecting plastic bottles..
