LOVE CHEESE? Ilchester Cheese Advent Calendar £10 at Sainsburys Christmas 2018
News
Ooooh, I’d like this for me this year!
Sainsbury’s will be selling the 2018 Ilchester Cheese Advent Calendar for £10 from November 14th 2018 onwards
The £10 Ilchester Cheese Advent Calendar contains 7 varieties of cheese: Jarlsberg, Applewood, Edam, Red Leicester, Wensleydale, Cheddar, and a limited edition ginger cheese.
There’s 24 windows to open and each cheese is individually wrapped. What’s clever is that the advent calendar opens like a book, and you can tear away the front part after the first 12 days, to save space in your fridge for your Christmas Day goodies.
The Ilchester Cheese Advent Calendar was sold in Asda last year (2017) after London based food blogger Annem Hobson realised there wasn’t a Cheese Advent Calebdar anywhere to be found, invented her own, and created a prototype, going on to win The Grocer’s Best New Product award.
Good thinking Annem!
I love cheese, I can’t wait ‘til advent, it’s not fair...
Note to Annem Hobson – what about creating an October Cheese Calendar? And a November Cheese Calendar? And a January Cheese Calendar....? Oooh you could get very rich – If so, please remember the Monthly Cheese Calendar was my idea (mine, mine, Johnny’s! OK?) and I’ll trade it with you for an Aston Martin.
Hmmm, Aston Martin Cheese...sounds yummy....now there’s another idea!
Johnny
Doesn't seem to be much point in a cheese advent calendar that has to be hidden away in the fridge. May as well just have a bowl of individual cheeses.
Seems like the idea is taking off though...and not just in the UK. This year it goes international!
UK: in Asda, Sainsbury’s and Booths stores nationwide.
USA: in over 247 Target stores nationwide.
France: in Carrefour supermarkets nationwide.
Denmark: Co-op stores nationwide.
Portugal: Continente stores nationwide.
Why let the kids have all the fun? Adults like advent calendars too!
Which reminds me... why is my wife keeping beauty products in our fridge? Better not buy her a Beauty Advent Calendar, there will be no space for cheese!
i would actually love to try this , but a little confused on how you store it , surely it would take up loads of room in the fridge , and there would be nothing worse than warm cheese ahah
I wanted one of the Asda ones last year but they sold out pretty quick in my local store! Fingers crossed I get my cheese advent calendar this year!
