Along the candle line, we save up any wax that is left over and make a new candle with it. Might not save much but it saves having to buy a new candle. We can normally make a new one every few months.
We collect the wax in one of the old candle jars and then when there is enough, you melt it down, put a new wick in the jar (you get them really cheap on amazon) and then pore the wax into the jar and let it cool. I put the wax in a glass measuring jug and then put the jug in a pan of boiling water.
We love this as you often get yellow sticker yoghurt but even if you can't the value ranges are about 50p. We top ours with left over bits of meat from the previous meal! We cook our bases for a short while prior to topping them for a crispier base
SandyRhodes brilliant aren't they so tasty and fun to make I'm gonna try crisping them next time thanx for the tip

SPACE SAVING PACKING
Fitting everything in you're suitcase can sometimes be difficult I ve found this video that shows you how to save space when packing your clothes
If you know how to sow, then mend clothes. I always sow up cardigans and tops when they get a hole in them and I spent this morning mending clothing. Saves you having to buy new ones when there is still plenty of life left in them!
Mrs Craig I do this the most frustrating part though is threading the needle it takes me ages lol sometimes I admit I give up
Bargain28 There are things you can get that help you to thread the needle, should save you some time. My granny was a great one for mend and make do and I follow some of her money saving tips, such as sowing up old clothes, watering down hand soap, washing up liquid and you don't need to use as much laundry detergent as it says on the box.
Bargain28 My Grandad taught me to thread a needle easily by either rolling the end of the thread in a tiny bit of soap (and let it dry) or put a tiny bit of nail varnish on the end of the thread (and let it dry) - either way will make the thread harden and then it goes through the eye of the needle easier (or you can just dampen the end of the thread with water, that works too).
That is a good tip, I normally just moisten the end of the thread, but nail polish is a good tip.
GirlieWhirlie thanx for this I am gonna try because I don't have much luck with threading needles
