Do You Record Your Own Calls?

As so it may be useful for possible evidence or you've simply forgotten it was activated and it was recording (this happened to me ). There are apps which do this so you don't have to record on the spot, or put it on the computer's microphone (like the old days might have been).
I tried looking up whether it's illegal or not in Britain, it doesn't seem so but providing to a third party can be. Still, if it's something serious and important then it's good to have proof that it occurred.
I have to admit I had recorded conversations when it was needed in serious cases. It’s not legal, is it?
In the UK, under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), it is not illegal for individuals to tape conversations provided the recording is for their own use.
Recording or monitoring is only prohibited where some of the contents of the communication are made available to a third party. If a person intends to make the conversation available, they must get the consent of the person being recorded.
