Two Lithuanians Prosecuted for Counterfeiting Laundry Detergent

In the News

We have all heard of money laundering, but have you heard about the Ariel laundering by two lithuanians ?

They were actually producing and selling counterfeit washing detergent under the Ariel name

Police found 22 metric tons of fake washing powder and liquid detergent in a warehouse along with false labels and documents

Exactly what was used in the manufacture is not stated, but i bet it would not shift those stubborn stains as in the original advert

Imagine how you would feel if you were duped into buying it thinking you would be getting a whiter than white wash, but just got a washout

Really wouldn't think there is that much money in it to go to the bother of counterfeit laundry detergent .

Mango4 They say the damage to proctor and gamble was 781,000 dollars, so that must mean the counterfeit detergent value they lost on the criminals activities M i assume

That's scary. Glad they have been caught though. I'm not shocked though people will do anything to make money

I've known about this happening for a while. I was telling MrsChimp the other day why I wouldn't buy laundry detergent from eBay because of it.

I bet with all that laundry detergent they would have expected to make a clean getaway.

I suppose they were always destined to get themselves into some Soapy Bubble.
