What is MyMcDonald’s Rewards?

MyMcDonalds is McDonald’s rewards programme. If you go to McDonald’s it’s worth joining the scheme, as you can earn points and get rewards and freebies.

 When you spend money in a McDonald’s restaurant, at the drive-thru, or order McDelivery through the My McDonald’s app, you’ll earn points.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You will earn points if you order McDonald's for delivery or pick up through the McDonald's app, but not if you order through Deliveroo, Uber Eats or Just Eat.

The more points you earn, the more rewards and freebies you’ll earn. Just make sure you scan your digital My McDonald’s card in the app when you spend money at McDonald’s to get your points.

How to join MyMcDonald’s Rewards

To join MyMcDonald’s rewards, you need to download the McDonald’s app. You can download it for Apple or Android.

Once that’s done, you can sign up for a MyMcDonald’s account in the app. You’ll need to follow the steps, fill in your details, and opt in to MyMcDonald’s rewards. Once you’ve signed up, if you stay on the app and turn on your location settings, go to the ‘offers’ section and you should get a pop up asking you to join MyMcDonald’s.

Once you’ve opted in, you can view your rewards and offers in the app, and in the ‘code’ section you’ll find a QR code you can scan when you spend money via a kiosk, counter or drive-thru. Everytime you go to the code section, they’ll generate a new QR code for you to use. You need to scan this before you place your order.

What do you get with MyMcDonald’s Rewards?

Every time you spend 1p at McDonald’s, you’ll earn 1 point. So, the more money you spend, the more points you’ll get. The more points you have, the more rewards you’ll be able to claim.

McDonald’s allows you to earn points and redeem them when you want. Once you’ve earned 1500 points, you can redeem them and get a freebie, or you can save them up to redeem them for a more high value freebie later on. Or, instead of a freebie, you can choose to make a charity donation instead.

Below is a breakdown of what you can get when you’ve earned enough points and how much you need to spend to get the freebie. For each of the levels there is a choice, so we’ve also included the price for each of the freebie options, so you can see which is the best value.

For every 1p you spend you’ll earn 1 point. However, there are times you can earn more points on selected items. 

If you go to the ‘rewards & offers’ section in the McDonald’s app, under ‘bonus points’ you can see all the items you can earn extra points on. For example, 100 bonus points when you buy a Mayo Chicken or double points on all McCafe hot drinks.

If you want to use any of these offers, you’ll need to click on them and add them to your order to get the bonus points.

How to claim MyMcDonald’s points

Once you’ve earned enough points, you will see the rewards will become unlocked in the ‘rewards & offers’ section of your McDonald’s app. When you want to activate your freebie, you can click on the item you want in the app, and apply it to your order.
