Ardmore has a Range of Exquisite Scotch Whisky
Ardmore is a manufacturer of Highland scotch whisky. The brand produces only single-malt peat-based whisky. They have always kept their roots in Scottish Highland traditions. The whisky has a peaty flavor to it. A gentle apple flavor is fermented to excellence in wooden washbacks. The fire used in the manufacturing process added a rich mid-palate taste to the whiskey. They have started to use steam coils that replaced the use of fire but retain the same flavor of the whiskey. Their own distillery is placed at Aberdeenshire’s highest point near Kennethmont. It is situated about 600 ft above sea level on the Northern Railway Line.
In the year 1898, Ardmore was founded by the son of Adam, William Teacher’s son. Adam Teachers chose to make his distillery on the outskirt of Kennethmont. The distillery was built on the land of their family friend Col. Leith Hay. The distillery pumped in water from the nearby surrounding that added the peaty taste of the whisky. The brand has been under the Teacher’s label providing good notes and a smoking texture to the product.
Packaging
The Ardmore whisky ranges are packed in a round box with a lid attached to it. It features an eagle and a map of the distillery on the label of the box. Every whisky bottle is made out of glass and sealed with a different colored lid.
Product Ranges of Ardmore
Ardmore has four ranges of whisky and each has a different taste and scent.
The Ardmore Legacy
The particular variety of the brand tells the back story of the distillery’s unique location situated in the lap of the Highlands. The place adds to the peaty flavor of the Legacy whisky giving out an uplifting and sweet taste to the liquor. This gentle smooth flavor drink reminds any whiskey lover about the Highlands. This alcoholic drink has always been a source of attraction to every whiskey lover, from the experienced to the newcomers. The whisky has a good light golden color to it. It gives out a good heather honey hint to the nose along with toffee bonbon and cinnamon. The taste of the whisky is creamy in texture with smoky charcoal notes and gets even better after adding water. This smoky flavor does not overpower the spicy flavor and the sweet taste of the drink, which adds to the unique taste of the liquor. After drinking the whiskey, it gives a silky finish to the mouth with a tinge of dry and tangy lingering effect.
The Ardmore Tradition
The Tradition has always been a travel retail exclusive made by the Ardmore. Its memorizing taste is made using dried barley with the sweet smoke of the Highland peat. This particular range of whisky is matured and stored in oak barrels following the rich Ardmore tradition. The color of the liquor is burnished gold and has an alcohol percentage of 46%. After maturation, the whiskey produces a smooth aroma adding to its special characteristics. The whiskey gives a taste of a rich burst of flavors and fills the mouth with a vanilla softness along with creamy peat tanginess. The aftertaste of the drink is long-lasting and fully succulent.
Ardmore Port Wood Finish
This variety of whisky is one of Ardmore’s most premium and unique products. They are doubly casketed in American white oak bourbon barrels in a sweet and light note of the alcoholic drink. The taste of the drink is fruity and smoky in nature. The liquor is aged 12 years and non-chill filtered, made using the same distilling methods which were used 100 years back. The color of this Admore variety is Ruby golden. When drank it gives an initial nose of summer fruits and strawberries with a little hint of pepper. The other notes like cinnamon spice and burnt orange underlie. This alcoholic drink gives a taste of honey and sweet red apple when tasted on the palate. The aftertaste is of dryness, a very trademark symbol of the Ardmore.
The Ardmore Triple Wood
This alcoholic drink is a unique whisky made by the Ardmore distilleries. They are matured inside American Oak barrels, quarter casks, and puncheons. The non-chilled filtered liquid has its own Highland peat smoke notes and is Golden straw in colour. This beautiful drink has notes of Biscuity cereal and banana. It has an underlying scent of ginger, cherry, and sugar. On tasting, the whiskey tastes like caramelized sugar, sweet vanilla custard, and toasted barley. The aftertaste of the refreshing drink has a taste of pepper, peat, and toasted almonds along with a uniquely dry mouth.
