Pepsi Max, also known as Pepsi Black in other countries made its debut in the UK, Australian, and Italian markets in April 1993. Not long before its introduction, it has gained massive popularity. It was then introduced in September of the same year in Spain, Greece, Portugal, and France, and the Netherlands in December. Before 1995 ends, more countries were added to that list.

The low-calorie, sugar-free cola is marketed by PepsiCo as an alternative to Pepsi and Died Pepsi. In 2005, the Pepsi Max product line in the UK and Australia were joined by Pepsi Max twist a cola with added lemon-lime flavour and Pepsi Max Punch, which was marketed in the country for the festive season. The flavour of Pepsi Max Punch is similar to that of the Pepsi Holiday Spice. Meanwhile, in 2006, the Pepsi Max Coffee Cino was launched in the UK, which was a coffee-flavoured variety. It is known in other countries as Pepsi Max Cappuccino.

Another variant called Pepsi Max Cease Fire was introduced in the UK in late 2011. This was promoted alongside a new Doritos flavour range called 3rd Degree Burn. Pepsi Max collaborated with English magician Steven Frayne, also known as Dynamo in 2013 for the Live for Now campaign. The partnership where Dynamo appeared in on-pack promotion on cans and bottles of Pepsi Max secured the campaign with 19 million unique impressions and 7 million total video views on social media.

Information

What are the different variants of Pepsi Max in the UK?
  • Pepsi Max. The original variant contains no sugar but will provide you with maximum taste.
  • Pepsi Max Raspberry. It does not have any strong artificial sweetener and has a pleasant raspberry taste. It also has a fairly subtle yet not too modest fruity taste.
  • Pepsi Max Cherry. This variant features a refreshing blast of cherry flavour. It takes the combination of cherry flavour and the great taste of cola to a new level with zero calories.
  • Pepsi Max Ginger. The ginger flavour gives this Pepsi cola a touch of spicy warmth and a little sweetness but still maintains its cola taste. It has a spicy aftertaste but not as blazing as ginger beer.
