Fortnite Owner Epic Games Raises £37m for Ukraine
Ask a Question
The company has announced that it will donate all in-game proceeds, from 20th March - 3rd April to Ukraine.
I don't play video games, so was surprised that people pay for items in game, especially when I saw the amount of £ raised!
I am definitely getting old, as my 1st thought was I hope they ask they parents before they buy. Then I realized that a lot of adults play online games, my 25 year old son for one
Are you a gamer?
I would never pay for any in-game items. It is an absolute waste of money in my opinion and I just don't see the point.
I am glad I am not the only one, that couldn't see the point, I thought it was my age ! ch7leach
Don't get me started on in game spending, my son plays roblox and can spend £50 in minutes when he gets voucher for Christmas and his birthday. They make serious money so fair play to Fortnire for doing something good with it.
I'm a mum to 3 and I love playing Fortnite! I thought Epic doing this was brilliant!
2 of my sons play fortnite too and they do sometimes (every 3/4 months) get gift cards out of their own money to spend in the fortnite item shop. I however have never paid for an item, in the game you can earn Vbucks (in game currency) to spend in the item shop for new skins/dances etc - I just save all my Vbucks cos I'm tight
Just thought I'd clarify incase anyone thought because I'm a mum to 3 that I sit and play fortnite all day...I don't a couple of times a week when kids are bathed and in bed I'll play. Some mums crack open a bottle of wine to relax - I load up a game of fortnite
I think its a nice gesture, but the cynical part of me thinks you can't buy this kind of publicity
