It worked out free, but then asked for my bank details to set up the direct debit. Not convinced so backed out.
I took this out last time it was on offer, did not receive a confirmation email so was a bit concerned. A few weeks later everything came and since then I have had a call to check I was happy. Not had to use the service yet, hopefully never will, nice to have for free.
Beware!!! I took breakdown cover with these clowns a couple of years ago. My wiper motor started playin up and I ended up calling BeSmart out. They claimed that I did not have a policy with them even though I received both an email and letter with all details and cover. I gave the policy number on the letter which I kept in the glove box several times they still kept saying I did not have a policy and would have to charge me £148 to come out in the end I said OK but informed them I would be demanding a refund. I provided them with very accurate and detailed information on where I was and after 2 hours they called me and said they could not find me. I asked them to get the recovery driver to call me and I would give him directions another 1 and 30 minutes later the recovery driver calls me and he's 5 away in the wrong direction. I finally got back on the road just under 4 hours after making my original call. They took the £148 from the bank and I immediately put in a debit card dispute with my bank and after 3 weeks of nasty letters from BeSmart and having sent both them and my bank copies the cover email and the letter BeSmart finally gave in I got my money back and then put in the nastiest complaint possible to them. Besmart offered to compensate me £50 which I refused and said that was nowhere near enough to compensate me all the aggro they had caused me after several groveling phone calls they compensated me £150. Please a word of advice contact BeSmart as soon as you have policy details and get them to confirm that you do have a policy with them and take the operator's name.
paulking505 it's not dodgy at all just free car breakdown cover no catch. They have great reviews and they have run this promotion previously too - thanks
emmabeckz i get what you are saying but if you take out home recovery and nationwide recovery its 50 odd quid a year when there are cheaper options out there croupon & wowcher thanks
Thanks - I've taken them up on their free year offer, as didn't have any existing cover due to not needing to drive much at the moment.
Just need to remember to check prices/cancel before the Direct Debit gets taken in a year's time.
