I have to say I am strongly opposed to people being able to obtain the medication Mounjaro without having to go through a GP and getting a bone fide prescription for it. It's not a quick fix if you want to lose a bit of weight - some of us are actually prescribed it for treating diabetes.
I have lost count of the amount of times that I have been unable to get my medication on time as the pharmacy was unable to get stock due to the demand from the people wanting a fast way to lose weight.
mudgesheila50 well, better they pay for it rather than decimating proper pharmacy stock with illegitimately obtained prescriptions. But I mostly agree. Prescription only drugs shouldn't be sold without a consultation, but as these lot are a pharmacy they'll claim the dialogue was a proper consultation.
mudgesheila50 Hi thank you for your comment, I hope I can clear a few things up for you. All of the weight loss injections and drugs are prescribed via a prescription by an actual doctor at MedExpress, you have to fill in a long health questionnaire and must provide photos of yourself and upload your passport or driving license as ID and they send a letter to your GP saying what they have prescribed you so it goes on your GP record. They get supplied through the pharmaceutical company direct and send it out to you through the post not from your local pharmacy so they are not taking drugs away from the NHS supply. Thank you
They have almost 11,000 reviews on TrustPilot and are rated as excellent too have a look

emmabeckz there was actually a piece on the news last night about this. A woman went to her GP wanting Mounjaro to lose weight - he said no she couldn't have it as she didn't need it, she wasn't obese. So she went online and filled in one of these so called "consultation forms" lying about her weight and BMI just to get it. Admittedly they didn't name the site but that's just one of them, there are loads! Long story short she ended up very ill, hospitalised over a month, gallbladder removed and other ongoing problems.
Pharmaceutical companies supply the NHS. If they are supplying the people who are doing the " private prescription" that's taking away from the pharmaceutical stock which means that there's less to go around everywhere else. They don't make 2 separate supplies, one for the NHS and one for dodgy people.
Your MedExpress Pharmacy may be ok, they might be one of the best ones but if you think about it, most people who are getting something they know they shouldn't really be having, and they got it really easily, are going to praise the people they got it from and recommend them to others. Just saying ...
