Dahlias are a staple in my garden. The recommendation is to dig up the tubers and store them in a frost free are, I leave mine in the ground covered with a thick layer on manure (if you buy it in sacks from the garden centre you don't get smell or weeds). The manure protects the delicate tubers, this will be the 4th year for some of mine.
