Was just in the market for breakdown cover and for free can’t complain at all. Thanks for posting

I cancelled before the renewal was due and had it confirmed via email but they still took a payment and when I tried to reclaim it I was just ignored. This is basically theft. I cancelled the direct debit to prevent any more payments being taken.
If you take up this offer I can only suggest checking your bank close to the time of renewal and making sure you cancel the direct debit before a payment is made. Do not rely on the cancellation email confirmation.
I have zero faith in the company myself and will not use them again for sure.
BonzoBanana just to get some context, how much was the single monthly payment they took before you could cancel? I'm just trying to judge whether this small amount might be worth it for 13 months cover.
Wirdy I'm not sure it was the beginning of the year. The fact I didn't pursue the refund probably meant it was probably around £5 or less. Didn't seem worth the time plus I did have car breakdown cover for a year.

It went back and forth a few times but no refund. Just delaying tactics with no intention of refunding. Completely dishonest company.
Terms & conditions say £49 excess before they will help you if you breakdown on this budget plan!!!
RimonitChriqui Very well said. It is not free . I got free RAC cover like this from my car insurance policy
Make sure you put the date to cancel in your diary and all the info like company name and phone number to cancel! You don’t receive a conf email and I really struggled to remember the name last year! Took me forever to find it so I could get a number to call and cancel!
Not seeing some very good comments about this especially the £49 excess, still worth it I suppose.
I have signed up for this but have not received any kind of email confirmation (I checked spam). How would I go about making a call if my car breaks down? I am really concerned because it would appear that they just want my bank details
All sorted, I have just purchased a new car that is 2 years old, I shouldn't hopefully experience any issues but this offer gives me the piece of mind. No doubt should I have to use their service then this is how the recoup the money, only time will tell but you can't moan at something for nothing
£49 excess
£48 National Recovery
£48 Home Start
£145 Total
StartRescue you get all that for about £50 year.
it’s probably even cheaper to join RAC or AA.
It does sound good because of the word free. But all the add ons are the basics that you would expect anyway, so what do you actually get that is free?
I'll have to check it out tomorrow. Seems like a good deal Firedragon what do you think
Do check your bank accounts as they took £72 from me as I chose to “pay” annually. I’ve phoned them up and shown the deal etc and they’re refunding me but this only came out a month later so do check!
