PhilipMarc thanks for the heads up. I guess this should make you aware not to keep much money in this account
Thomas18 Precisely.
I closed most EMI card accounts I had, except Wise which is useful to send money internationally via IBAN (I don't send it that often, quite rarely though it's handy to have it).
PhilipMarc isn’t starling also helpful for sending money abroad? That’s what I’m using
Thomas18 True, you can.
The cheapest option is about 30p (low cost payment option or something) so you don't even need to use Wise (EMI) if you have Starling (FSCS).
I've got a Starling account, mainly for eBay payments and while I like Starling, the UI is a bit confusing at times. Hope they change that to something more user-friendly.
PhilipMarc Don't know what that is but will google it now. Thanks for the heads up
PhilipMarc I agree, Starling’s UI can be a bit confusing, but with a bit of patience you’ll find your way
Thomas18 With Sterling having that option, think I'll close my Wise, then.
Starling's a lot more useful than Wise and safer, too.
Thanks for the tip. I actually wasn't aware of that.
Audatex I was wondering exactly the same thing PhilipMarc thank you for asking. Guess I'll have to have a look.
Audatex FSCS will protect your money in the event of a bank going bankrupt, an EMI institution.. It's their choice.
I did ask Revolut and they told me in case that were to happen, the clients would get their money, but who's to say they'd do it as they're under no obligation since they're EMI.
PhilipMarc I’m glad you found that useful. I’m using Starling for few years now and I’m very happy with them
Not sure this time round but usually the card is free but they charge you £4.99 for delivery so look out for that
Hmmm reading into it you are signing up for a free trial (don't know how long it is until you sign up) and after that there is a fee payable either monthly or per year, your choice. So it's not free people, be careful what you are signing up for, make sure you read all the Promotion terms and conditions so you don't get caught out.
devonlass This is an easy draw into a payable fee later, as you have said Be careful and read the T&C's first !

I never paid for a physical card, I just use their virtual one.
sabzzz ah ok. Did you sign up for the free trial after setting up your account? The £10 credit also takes 3 days from your transaction date.
