Hedgehogs naturally take shelter in areas out of direct sunlight, under shrubs or behind sheds, for example, this will increase the chances of hedgehogs inhabiting this house.

The hedgehog house is made of durable fir wood and a waterproof pitched roof. It’s covered with a durable waterproof roofing felt, tacked down to ensure it doesn’t peel off in bad weather.

The house comes with pre-drilled holes for quick and easy assembly and comes with all the screws needed, along with an instruction manual.

Please note that timber may swell when subjected to changes to temperature and humidity (i.e. moving the hedgehog house from outdoors to indoors).

The wood has been treated with water-based varnish, perfectly safe for hedgehogs, but will need varnishing on the outside once a year. On no account should the hedgehog house be creosoted or treated with non-water-based preservatives or paint as the fumes remain for a long time and can be very harmful.
