Ah, summer – ‘tis the season of al fresco dining and BBQs. It’s also the season of uninvited guests, and we don’t mean your ex and their new partner. There’s nothing more persistent than a wasp on a mission for freshly grilled chicken, and many an outdoor feast has been driven inside by these yellow-jacketed fiends.

But wait! Before you reach for the rolled-up newspaper and smash the living daylights out of your fabulous tablescape, consider instead a more stress-free approach to wasp control. This glass trap not only looks beautiful on your al fresco tablescape, it also attracts wasps by way of fruit juice or sugar water poured into the lip inside the base of trap.

Once inside, they find it very difficult to get back out, meaning insect-free mealtimes and a more humane method of pest control, as you can (carefully) release the wasps when the festivities are over.

After all, they’re useful little pollinators when they’re not helping themselves to your ice cream, and from a purely aesthetic point of view, your catcher looks so much prettier de-wasped.
