I might sound foolish, but how do you install this? Can't see any details about it except 'easy to install' and I'm afraid if it's also easy to take off which means any punk can just stop by and leave with my nice video doorbell

Use a power drill to drill the holes where the screws will go. Try to hold the base plate steady whiling drilling holes. ...
Take your Ring Doorbell and line it up with the plate. Make sure the doorbell click to the place firmly.
