Hanging Glass Wasp Trap

It’s the perfect time of year for eating outdoors – except for the uninvited guests, that is. We’re talking wasps, of course, in all their stripey glory. It never fails to amaze Team RSG that such small creatures can wreak so much havoc, prompting grown men to sprint for cover (whatever happened to women and children first?) and angry hosts to wallop the heck out of their beautifully laid table with whatever comes to hand in a quest to deter the undeterrable.

Luckily, we think we have the answer, in the shape of this beautiful glass wasp catcher. Fill with sugar water, fruit juice or a sweet fizzy drink, hang from a tree a good distance away from your guests, and watch as this acts as the perfect deterrent. Wasps can fly in through the opening at the bottom (the top is stopped by a cork) but find it very difficult to find their way back out, meaning your burgers, steak, salads and puds are safe to enjoy, pest-free.

At the end of the festivities, simply take the cork out of the top and set the little blighters free (after all, they’re useful pollinators). Everybody wins!
