It's mountain bike style rather than an actual mountain bike, the stanchions are only 2.54" diameter and it has a freewheel rather than freehub and cassette. It's too weak to be taken properly off-road unless you are a light child. I'd actually say this is poor value as its spec is so low and I've seen recent real mountain bikes for similar money at places like Halfords.
