Think twice before buying this item. The processor is not compatible for windows eleven. So if you want to keep it updated through Microsoft updates. You'll end up having to pay for the updates.... Otherwise it's a bricklayers side table...🤣

Shaunx Very well said 👍. This is just very expensive junk . Any intel CPU lower than 8th generation won't be updated.to Windows 11 . Windows 10 support ends soon. This is only generation 6 cpu . Old Intel CPUs and Windows have vulnerabilities which need constant updates so this will become virus honeypot without updates . Maybe good for Chrome Flex but don't know if touchscreen driver will work with Chrome OS . There are ways to update to Windows 11 without meeting hardware requirements but they can cause Unexpected Windows blue screens of death.

The rrp and description is all from when it was new, but in case you're not aware this seems to have been released around 2015

So it's approaching 10 years old, AND it's refurbished... I feel £350 is a bit steep

This is an absolute con. The original price is when it was launched and now its worth nowhere near £350. You get old PCs on freecycle that may have cost £2000 but given away the fact is they are perhaps 15 years old so are slow and power hungry nowadays and have no value.

I bought a laptop on ebay at auction for £33 delivered which turned up yesterday in almost new condition. It's based on the Celeron N5100 processor and by some weird coincidence it seems to perform near identically to this older i5 computer. It does so with only a 6W TDP and being later it is more compatible with later operating systems like Windows 11 but for performance they are extremely close together.

www.technical.city/en/cpu/Core-i5-6300U-vs-Celeron-N5100

The laptop I bought was a Dell Latitude 3120 and in some ways it is inferior to this and in other ways superior but I'm just making the point that this i5 can only match a low power budget Celeron.

BonzoBanana I should point out its not the latest Celeron either as it came out in 2021 I think so still 3 years old. Something with the latest Celeron would be faster again especially if it had a 15W TDP like the i5.
