Personal breakdown cover means that you'll be covered in the event of a breakdown, as opposed to your vehicle. Therefore you'll still be eligible for roadside cover if you break down in someone else's car, whether you're the driver or the passenger. The vehicle will be fixed at the roadside or if the patrol can't fix it, you will be towed up to 10 miles to either your home address or a local garage. Plus, a taxi will also be organised to take your passengers home.

You can also choose to add on more options to your policy including Recovery in case your vehicle needs towing, Battery Replace if your battery fails and many more. These will increase the total cost however so if you just want to pay the £42 annual cost, you can skip these.

This deal is worth considering if you plan to travel anywhere in the UK soon, as it gives you peace of mind that you'll be covered if you break down. RAC can offer you that extra security for your day trip or a weekend away. Their policy entitles you up to 5 call outs per year, plus you'll also get a 20 mile taxi ride to your home or work if your vehicle is out of action.
