What follows is the 2019 post (last year's)
Just to confirm. The boost to 70% off is starting in-store today, Friday 1st February 2019. About time!
Johnny
So the boost to 70% OFF didn't happen on Friday 18th, or Friday 25th January....
Q. Will the Boots Sale Boost to 70% off happen in 2019?
A. Yes, the 70% OFF signs have already been seen in some Boots stores waiting to be displayed.
Q. Why the delay?
A. Probably because of hiccup, or because Boots haven’t shifted enough stock at 50% off yet, and Boots Management have decided to hold off boosting the January Sale to 70% off for a bit longer in order to make more profit.
Q. When do you think it will now start Johnny?
A. If I was Boots Management I would now delay the start date to Friday 1st February 2019, sell more stock off at 50%, whilst letting the start date speculation reach fever pitch and announce the sale on the morning of Friday 1st February just in time for the weekend, and for when most people receive their first pay check since Christmas. So my gut now says Friday 1st February.
Q. How can we be sure when the boost to 70% off start date is?
A. Boots usually announces the start date only on the morning of the actual 70% Sale. Either check the Boots website every morning for the announcement (remember the sale is most likely to be in-store only, NOT online), or keep checking back here on Latest Deals for any inside information from members.

The Boots 70% Off Sale is hotly anticipated every January, when Boots boost their sale discount on Christmas Gift Sets, Fragrance etc. from 50% to 70% to clear their remaining stock. The 2019 Boots 70% Off Sale Start Date is a closely guarded secret, and is usually only finalised by Boots management a few days before the 70% Sale happens, and then kept hush hush until it actually starts.
Right now the 2019 start date can only be an educated guess.
Boots 70% Sale Hints and Tips
- If you want something specific, don’t wait for the discount boost from 50% off to 70% off. Grab it now whilst it’s still in stock. You can check out the existing Boots 50% off Sale here
- Remember the Boots 70% Off Sale may be 'In-store Only' like last year. Whereas the 50% Off Sale has already started.
- The best stuff sells out fast in the bigger Boots stores at 50% off, and even more so at 70% off. Nipping into a smaller store is often a good way of bagging a bargain already sold out elsewhere.
- To avoid disappointment it’s a good idea to take a more serendipitous approach to the Boots 70% Off Sale. Merrily take your pick from what’s actually still available when the 70% boost starts, rather than pin your hopes on something specific beforehand.
You can click and collect from one of 2,200 Boots stores for £1.50.

It is 50 percent now in stores.....and u need to get there to have the good products. I hope the fragrance sets will go down and get some....
I like to use my Advantage card points if only for a small treat. Last year I got a nice Christmas candle table decoration!
Never again ! Last year at meadowhall 2 people guarding a corner whilst another 3 people cleared the shelves of all the expensive sets and piled them up. In multiples of at least 10 and staff let them do it... complete farce... Why not 1 of each item and only 1 basket per person ?????
I used to look forward to getting a few bargins for putting away for next year, but now everything is sold out in minutes regardless what it is, then resold on eBay....so if you don't get what you're looking for in the 50/70% sale, ebay is the place to look, it's absolutely inundated within days of the sale with every type of boots gift set you could want.......at higher price of course!
Because if everyone knew the exact date when the discount would be boosted to 70% off well in advance, they would hold off from buying until then. As a result, Boots would sell less product at the higher price and make less profit. Essentially Boots want to shift as much excess stock as possible at the higher up to 50% off sale price before starting their clearance at 70% off. As all products are bar-coded these days, Boots can keep a very close eye on exactly how much stock they have left to shift and the management can make a finely tuned decision on the start date, bringing it forward or delaying it, as they see fit.
Lots of stock in the Newcastle upon Tyne store. most people obviously waiting for the boost
though last year it was ridiculous. people were pulling stuff out of other people's hands crazy lot
Apparently staff never knows till the morning they arrive and are told to swap price lists. I'm going to my local boots tonight and see if i can see any displays yet...otherwise it will be a case of luck going in tomorrow at 8....ill laugh it's Thursday this year haha
People get greedy and take to much of 1 product, mainly to sell on. That is so annoying, boots should limit to max 3 of any individual item, so more people get a look in!
if someone is stood with stuff around them and not actually in a basket or trolly then technicaly it is still on the shop floor and for sale so if i see someone with it pilled up around them then i will take what i want and inform them it is on the shop floor, boots should start limiting people to what they have as most just go and resell i just by stuff for next years gifts but the greedy ones cause the problems.
