KNOW MY RIGHTS
It’s vital we all know, cherish and fight for our rights.
For 20 years, the Human Rights Act has been used by ordinary people – soldiers, people in care, journalists, LGBT+ people, disabled people, workers, children – to defend their rights and hold the powerful to account.
A whole generation has grown up safe in the knowledge that their rights are enshrined in law by the Human Rights Act.
Now, with their future in jeopardy, it’s even more important we cherish the Human Rights Act and celebrate the justice it’s made possible.
That’s why we’re giving away our popular pocket-sized guide to your fundamental rights.

Thanks for sharing this great freebie. It's always a great idea to know your rights so you are not taken advantage of. I had a random call recently from a debt recovery agency asking me to start making payments on a debt I knew nothing about. I hate owing money so was keen to get it sorted but wanted verification of why I owed this money . I agreed I would pay a certain amount weekly once I confirmed that it was my debt . However the caller kept going on trying to get me to make a first payment, a goodwill payment to guarantee I would stick to the payment plan. To get them off the phone I had to say I didn't have my own debit card (they still persisted asking if I could use someone else's card?????). I then said as I was owing money all over the place that I had no way of paying online as no access to my own bank(totally untrue but I needed to check the situation out).
Anyway it was a debt that had been ran up after I left a property even though I had contacted the energy company to advise I was no longer a tenant of the property. I had left the property over 10 years ago so any debt would be void after so long . However if they had conned me into making a payment(no matter how small) the debt would be valid again starting from date I made payment. So their "goodwill gesture payment" was nothing of the sort . My point being if I'd known about the length of time before a debt is written off etc I could have saved myself a lot of time on the phone and stress
Nickyhaslam77 It's amazing the lengths some fraudsters/companies will go to to get your money and put it into their own pockets! The world has changed so much, and not for the better, so we all need to know our rights and be very wary. I am glad it worked out for you.
tumblespots I hate owing money out so they pray on that. They going on about court costs and the debt will get higher unless I set up a payment plan because as soon as I start paying no additional costs would be added on. But if I had made a payment then it would have made me responsible for the debt which wasn't even mine anyway. If I had known my rights I could have told them to "go forth and multiply" lol.

I've ordered my free copy , definitely worth a read and could come in handy , useful to know your rights.
If we do not know our rights, if our children are not taught their rights and if we do not actively claim our rights, we will lose them.
It's always good to know your rights and was very simple to get no hidden fees for the book
