How Does ASDA Rewards Work?
ASDA Rewards is a loyalty app for the ASDA supermarket. You earn money back into a Cashpot that is then exchanged for ASDA vouchers.
How do I get ASDA Rewards?
- Register or sign in to ASDA Rewards app (Google Android Play Store, Apple iOS App Store)
- If you are an ASDA customer already, login with the same details
There is no ability to access ASDA Rewards online via a website, nor is there a physical card. It is only available via the ASDA Rewards app.
What do I get with ASDA Rewards?
ASDA Rewards gives you money back when you purchase select promoted products. Often you get 10% of the purchase price.
You do not earn money back on all purchases.
Products available with ASDA Rewards are highlighted on the ASDA website, in-store, and on the ASDA app with yellow stars ⭐️.
You can also see a full list of promoted products on the ASDA Rewards app:
How do I get money back? (Cashpot)
When you purchase a Star Product you'll receive a 'Cashpot' boost of 10% to the product's price. Some products with 'Super stars' give you even more.
- For example, if you buy a Star product that costs £3, you may get £0.30p to your Cashpot.
Your Cashpot is held within the 'Wallet' of your ASDA Rewards app. You can see how much you have earned there:
ASDA lets you exchange your cashpot for ASDA vouchers. This essentially makes it like cashback.
How Do I Withdraw The Cashpot as ASDA Vouchers?
After you have earned a minimum of £1 you can exchange your Cashpot for vouchers. You can then use those vouchers on your ASDA shop (including ASDA George).
ASDA vouchers are available in £1 denominations. This means if you have earned £1.50 in your cashpot you will only be able to exchange £1 for vouchers, and need to earn another 50p to get another voucher.
Sometimes you may receive the option to convert your Cashpot balance into a Boost voucher which increases its value by a percentage.
IMPORTANT: You have 6 months to use ASDA Pounds in your Cashpot from the time you earn them.
Can I use ASDA Rewards with my online ASDA grocery shopping?
Yes. Once you have the ASDA Rewards app and have logged in with the same details as your ASDA account (or register with ASDA with the same details as ASDA Rewards), the two will be connected.
If you shop via the ASDA app or website, you may see a notification informing you that it is now connected:
How do I use ASDA Rewards card?
On the ASDA Rewards app you will see your 'card': A bar code unique to you -
Every time you shop in-store you need to open ASDA Rewards and scan this barcode.
When you shop online via the ASDA website or app, ASDA Rewards will automatically be earned if you buy promoted products (see below).
Missions
ASDA Rewards also contains 'Missions'. These are shopping opportunities to earn larger amounts of cashback into your Cashpot.
For example (may not be available at the time of reading):
- Spend £5 on Twinings products to get £1 in your Cashpot (20%)
- Spend £5 in in-store bakery items to get £1 Cashpot (20%)
- Buy 10 frozen products to earn £1.50 Cashpot
- Spend £22 on fruit and veg to earn £2 Cashpot
The interesting thing about Missions is that they may contain items that do not have Stars on them elsewhere.
Missions can be a good way to earn more to your Cashpot, and worth reviewing before doing your ASDA shop.
Tom's Notes
If you shop at ASDA you should get ASDA Rewards. It's free and only takes 2-minutes to set up. Even if you don't actively look out for Star products (those you can earn 10% ASDA Pounds on) you might by chance pick them anyway.
Star products tend to be branded goods that cost a bit more. It's still worth looking at alternative brands such as ASDA's Just Essentials range. The 'Missions' are a nice bonus and I can see them being helpful especially for large families: It tends to be if you buy large quantities of an item. Alternatively, if you have a chest freezer (see chest freezer deals) an opportunity to bulk buy and save.

Thanks for this I did a asda shop today online and I was wandering if the app and grocery site were connected I don't think the rewards app is always that great they seem to have the star awards on mainly overpriced stock but if your shopping there anyway its worth having it for example 2.50 earnt today on a 135 pound shop not even ten percent but I spose would have got nothing without the app
I have £9.88 in mine but what I was unaware of is the time limit, thanks to reading this I now know how to claim and when I have to claim by, great information, thankyou!
Soon builds up, the cashpot, when we shop online, we always check rewards first to see what the milestones and star products are, often, can be items we buy anyway, hence nice bonus.
