Why is my National Trust Discount Code Not Working?

Just as any other retailer, there could be several reasons why your National Trust Membership voucher code isn't applying:

  • The voucher code may have expired: Make sure that your National Trust Membership promo code is still valid. Promo codes typically have an expiration date and once they have expired, they aren't usable.
  • The voucher code may not be applicable to your purchase: Voucher codes often come with certain conditions that need to be met, such as only being valid for specific types of memberships or requiring a minimum order value. If your purchase doesn't meet these conditions, then the promo code might not work.
  • The voucher code may have been entered incorrectly: Ensure the voucher code has been entered correctly, including all alphabets, numbers, or special characters. A slight typing error could lead to your discount code not functioning as expected.
  • The voucher code may not be valid for your region: Occasionally, specific voucher codes are intended for use in certain regions only. If your National Trust Membership discount code doesn't apply, it could be because that particular code isn't applicable to memberships within your geographical location.

Alternatives to National Trust Memberships

  • English Heritage - Those seeking experiences similar to National Trust memberships might enjoy joining English Heritage. Like the National Trust, English Heritage allows unlimited access to historic properties and gardens, offering discounts on gift shops and cafes.
  • Historichouses - Historic Houses is another UK-based organisation offering a similar service to the National Trust. As a member, you'll have access to hundreds of privately owned houses and gardens across the UK.
  • Royal Oak Foundation - Royal Oak Foundation members can enjoy total access to National Trust properties in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
  • Woodland Trust - The Woodland Trust is a conservation charity focussed on the UK's woodland. A membership grants entry to the trust’s owned woods and keeps members updated on the trust's works.
  • Rspb - If you're an avid birdwatcher or nature lover, a membership to the RSPB can be a great alternative to a National Trust membership. The society protects wildlife across the UK and offers unlimited entry to over 170 nature reserves.
  • Britishmuseum - Perfect for art and history lovers, the British Museum Membership offers unlimited access to world-class exhibitions, exclusive events and offers in the museum's shops and cafes.
  • London Zoo - If you're more interested in wildlife than old houses, a Zoological Society of London (ZSL) membership could be a good alternative. Members have unlimited access to London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo.

Tips for Finding the Best National Trust Memberships Codes

Secondly, visit the National Trust's website to spot seasonal promotions and limited time offers, this can often render substantial savings. What To Think About Before Buying at National Trust Memberships?

  • Membership benefits: Investigate the benefits offered by a National Trust membership. These can include free entry to selected historical sites, gardens, and parks.
  • Membership cost: Determine whether the cost of the National Trust membership aligns with your budget. Price can vary depending on the type of membership (e.g., individual, family, senior).
  • Usage: Consider how often you would use the membership. Would you be visiting National Trust properties regularly? The membership gains more value the more frequently it is used.
  • Gift Aid: If you're a UK taxpayer, the National Trust can claim an extra 25% in tax on your membership through Gift Aid. Make sure to check this option.
  • Exclusivity: Some National Trust sites are exclusive to members only. Ensure that you are interested in these specific locations before purchasing a membership.
  • Discounts and special offers: Some types of National Trust Memberships offer discounts at shops and cafes, free parking at most National Trust car parks, and access to special events. Do these benefits appeal to you?
  • Cancellation policy: Review National Trust's cancellation policy for their memberships. Is it easy to cancel if you change your mind or can't use the membership as much as you thought?
  • Membership versatility: One membership can cover an entire family, including children/grandchildren up to the age of 18. Consider if this would be beneficial for your situation.
  • Autorenewal: Check if the National Trust membership has automatic renewal and what the process is to cancel it, if you decide to not continue with the membership.
  • Charitable donation: Take into account that your membership fee contributes to the conservation of the UK’s heritage. Consider if this charity aspect adds value to your membership decision.

They allow the hunt on their land, it's not only illegal to hunt but it's cruel, I will never go to National Trust place whilst they allow this illegal activity which is such a shame as they have beautiful grounds and houses, there cafe though expensive have nice fresh produce

If you like exploring and having fun days out then a National Trust membership could be just the thing for you.You can pay monthly by direct debit and a family pass only sets you back just over a tenner.Seeing as some NT places are over thirteen pounds, one trip and you have your money back plus get free parking at all sites.I fully endorse getting memberships and you will not regret it.

My husband and I were bought a year's membership as a present. It was bought for us just before lockdown therefore we didn't get to use it. On contacting the National Trust they wouldn't extend our membership which through no fault of our own we couldn't use it. Very disappointed at their response.
