Any Advice for Overpronation?

Since I was a child I have always rolled my right ankle in when I walk. This wasn't too noticeable to others luckily. But as the years have gone by I think I have gotten worse and it has started to cause aches and pains in my leg and lower back.. I went to a running shop today to see if I could have gait analysis, but as I am not a runner and its quite noticeable when I am bear foot he said there wasn't much point. That it needed more medical attention. Anyone had any experience of this? Any products you have had joy with? Insoles, certain shoes? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
