Always Take a Present to a Party?

If your child gets invited to a Party, do you always take a present?
I'd love to know your thoughts!
SamGoodship normally £5 I used to get presents but she was invited to so many it was becoming annoying looking for something for kids I don't know
SamGoodship around £5 it's what my daughter and her friends agreed on so I do that with my sons.
If its a close friend it is bit more but if they have invited the whole class I think that's enough
We’ve had 3 parties in the last 2 weeks and always taken a gift.
I’ve always thought that was the correct etiquette, especially as the parents have taken the time, effort and expense hosting the parties. Some of them must have been so expensive.
No, with having a few kids who go or have been to tons of party's ,I can honestly say we have never bought a present
SamGoodship yes we buy cards but no presents, it would cost too much to give presents for every party they went to, that's why we don't buy them
martinlufc5637 gosh that seems a bit mean and rude . A card and bag of sweets if money is tight is absolutely fine.

Yes I always take a present. I ask the parent what their child would like as a present and will get something within my budget. If I couldn't find anything then I would put money in the card but I wouldn't turn up without anything.
We had our sons birthday a few months ago and everyone either came with a present or gave money for one. I did say that they didn't need to get him anything as money is tight and I didn't want someone spending money they didn't have.
Yes we always took a present to a party, only when the children got a bit older it was money with the card

Daughter likes to cook & bake too,it takes the stress away of juggling Uni life & Placement,it's her HAPPY place,we all need one of those don't we? X
