Amazon Free Delivery Has Increased From £20 To £25 For Non-Prime

I usually see if my order can be delivered to the local Post Office free. If not the item stays in my basket until the free delivery kicks in. I don’t pay for PRIME anymore.

with transportation costs getting higher and higher I guess they will nearly all be looking to iincrease delivery costs or minimum orders.

Its the same everywhere so not surprised they're doing it too

We've recently cancelled our Amazon Prime, we had it as my partner liked having the streaming service but we didn't use it much, never used the music service. The delivery was great to have, but we don't order much from Amazon anymore and I tried to look elsewhere since they stopped Amazon Smile too even if it was the same price but I had to wait a little longer.

Our delivery drivers don't even bother knocking or ringing the bell anymore, they just put it on the step and run. Not helpful if it is hammering it down with rain outside and someone could have brought it inside, plus out for all to see, most don't even try and hide them.

Hopefully we shouldn't need to order anything anyway, will save us a lot more in the long run.

If you are ordering more than 2 separate items a month it would be worth the £8.99 a month as postage is usually around £5 for anything under the minimum and obviously if you are using their other services with it, £95-£108 a year is a great saving.

I love my Prime, but we order a lot from Amazon and the next day delivery comes in useful.

We don't use the streaming often, but there's lots available on it including some Premier League games.

I have various subscribe and save items, Fridays delivery of 7 items was spread over Thursday (Royal Mail), Friday and Saturday (2 deliveries 1 hour apart) and consisted of 10 parcels.

Good to know. I usually have my stuff delivered to local Amazon Hub Lockers or the Post Office as it's usually free with no minimum spend.

We still have Prime but we do make good use of it. Music in every room with the dots and the odd film plus handy as can download and watch on holiday. I wouldn't think it worth it just for free delivery though

I love prime. Use it a lot. I use subscribe and save a lot as well as other services. Don't use the music

I used Prime whilst I was renovating the house and there were lots of bits to order. I only used the streaming service a couple of times, the music service NEVER. ALL the music services are crap quality if you have proper HiFi not pathetic speakers like Echo dot. So I cancelled Prime after I’d finished and no longer needed to place orders regularly. Currently using a Months Free Prime Trial which I wont renew. Probably take out another Free Trial nearer Xmas

The 7.99 monthly charge may seem exponentially expensive. If you join with family or close friends, even a pound each! You can have Amazon prime items sent to many many addresses no limits. So you all get to use the service or if you don’t want them to see what you buy, (only the last 4 digits of your card show on the app) then simply get them to pay you and you order next day. job done no more saving for lots of “little bits“

I only do prime trials and have 3 Amazon accounts so free trials come up fairly regularly. Mostly I rely on the £20 free postage requirement and so probably will use Amazon a little bit less because of this. I often buy from marketplace sellers who have their own free postage or you have to pay postage separately. It's worth pointing out that Amazon selling rates are high so an item sold by a marketplace seller at lets say £22 could be £21 at ebay from the same seller or £20 from their own website.

I find Amazon extremely slow at sending on occasion. It can take many months. Looking here I'm still waiting for an item I ordered the end of last year which I ordered to go above the £20 limit. I can't cancel the item but they don't send. Amazon can be frustratingly awful at times.

lilyflower - I didn't know this until now. I ordered a door bell for £22.99 and couldn't understand why £4.99 was added for delivery.

I noticed it today when I was placing an order and wondered why it kept saying it wasn't free yet.

You may have also noticed that Tesco are also changing the amount for free delivery (delivery saver members) to a £50 basket of goods and a £5 charge if your basket is less than that.

Doesn’t really surprise me now everything is going up more and more

I knew this was eventually gonna happen, but am surprised they didn't go right for £30 minimum.

What Isn't going up so no surprise at this.
