Animal Rights Wants to Bad a Village with the Name Wool.

News

Just been reading this and I though I would share with you all.

An animal rights group is demanding the purebeck village of wool change it's name as it promotes cruelty to sheep.

Eslsa Allen director at Peta wrote to the wool parish council asking for the 1,000 year old village to be rename VEGAN WOOL

The animal rights organisation said they would give a free cruelty free wollen blanket to all 2, 000 house holds in the village if they agree to the suggeston.

What ever next. What do you make of it and way. 🐑🐏🐑🐏🐑🐏🐑

They were on tv this morning and went a lot further, want sheep shearing banned etc. Sick and tired of vegans trying to force stupid changes like this, it harms their cause. Shouldn't have dogs as guide dogs on tv the other day 'because they can't give consent'. Well better stop horse riding, pony trekking, sheep dog trials, and so forth. As far as I am concerned the world is as it is after millions of years of evolution and animals have been supplying human needs all that time, after all a plant can't carry us around and is very limited in its contribution to human evolution. If animals were meant to 'give consent' we would all be called Doolittle. Having said all that I have total gratitude toward animals for what they give us and would sign anything to lessen any suffering. As for those who are cruel to animals well they should be locked up. Human beings sicken me with their cruelty and hate and believe me I see it a lot in my job.

Ah, don't worry. No one cares about PETA, they just try to make a lot of noise and stir up stuff.

PETA should be shut down since they only do more harm than good for what they preach for.

They're like the real life version of Twitter/Tumblr. 😆

wool itches me so it’s not something I seek out to wear. Tbh if we are able to replicate materials synthetically it’ll certainly be more cost effective and sustainable long term, provided it’s not harmful to the environment. I’m no vegan, but with what we are able to achieve these days, it’s time to develop our practices to reflect the way of the world

They know there is no way the village will be renamed. It's just a good way of getting some media attention and it worked. Unfortunately for them, most people will think Peta are nothing more than crackpots for this (and other stunts) and it's likely to overshadow any legitimate animal welfare issues.

RT covered this article.

Whoever funds PETA should stop. They're a worthless waste of time company who actually do nothing good yet scream "ANIMAL RIGHTS!!".
