An Anti Depression Electrical Headset That is Said to Work

In the News

It all seems like science fiction but it has become reality

We now have another breakthrough in science with an Electric headset for treating depression

This has been trialled and the results were found to be successful

Depression is one of the most prolific illnesses we now have , everyone seems to know someone suffering from it , from the young to the old

Just wearing it for 30 minutes over a 6 week period had a very positive effect on sufferers

And the icing on the cake is it is not too expensive as most newly trialled devices normally are , at £399.00 it can be bought privately

But i would expect this to become available on the NHS , possibly on prescription, as the alternative is expensive drugs and therapy , and as time goes on it should come down in price , this could save millions if not billions in treatments and lost time from work

I got the opportunity to try one in a research trial a few months ago. They're Ok but don't think they will change things that much. I'd much rather a good Indian Head massage any day. Image

That's good, technology being used to help humanity. Oh, and AI can be used for good causes, too:

What does this song have anything to do with it? Randy Travis lost his voice so he used an AI voice (I honestly just thought it just sounded a bit weird, but not an AI).

Back to anti depression, I read a comment on YouTube that certain antidepressant pills made a guy lose weight and gain his confidence to date women... As great as it sounds, if people don't suffer from depression they shouldn't take it due to its side effects.

From his replies, it's apparently Setraline 100mg. Please don't take it based on a YT comment, see your doctor or go to a GP for recommendation.

I had severe depression even needed hospital. I was on antidepressants tablets for a prolonged time. I never opted for the electrical treatment. Eventually I recovered but my personal opinion is these treatments don’t do anything. Well didn’t for me anyway but people are different. It was the source of the problem that needed looking at with actual practical help that I managed to recover. It took years before I got the help actually needed but I did eventually.

telmel People are affected differently and it’s a personal choice. It may well work well for some people but depends on what is causing the depression. I just think it’s easy and a bit of a cop out for doctors to say it’s just brain chemical imbalance when something might have happened/is happening that is causing it in the first place really needs focusing on to solve it.

telmel There's a thread on the film community blu-ray.com/ where a user asked for suggestions about movies regarding suicide where the character decides everything is going to be fine.

forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=374321

That user hasn't been online since June 1st so I hope everything is alright and it's just about suicidal movies, not that he/she has those thoughts. Folks in that case need to seek professional help to get off that dangerous path (there are sickos online who actually incentivize people to go through and take their life).

Yeah, right.

I wear a tin foil hat on my head so that the nasties don't get me.

Absolute BS imo and the people in the trial didn't have depression in the first place. If they had proper depression, nothing would really help, especially a bloody electric headset.

This has really boiled my p*ss

TheChimp It obviously works for some TC, you cannot blag a controlled clinical trial

telmel For some that don't have real depression.

If someone had real depression, they wouldn't sign up to do this crappy trial because they'd be in the pits. Trust me, I've been there. You wouldn't go out of your bedroom let alone do this nonsense.

My p*ss is boiling even more now. Everyone going to court on charges has depression and anxiety these days.

TheChimp I have been on a clinical trial years ago TC , but i was given a placebo, although i didn't know at the time , they only accept people with medical conditions related to the trial to take part , so those on the trial would have been medically diagnosed already

I cannot criticise people who say they have depression, only they and the doctors know the true effects , some hide it so well from family and friends

I do feel for the younger generation, they have so much to deal with that us of the older generation didn't have to , the future is so bleak for them now , no wonder there is so much about

This is a difficult one to understand, I think true depression usually has a deep cause implanted in their brain and it takes a lot of different treatments to sort. I believe people do need anti depressants but also talking therapy to get to heart of problem. My neighbour suffers from depression and there’s quite few things behind it. She’s on antidepressants but was referred for counselling by the dr. I was talking to her last night and she was telling me bout it. She got block course of counselling and was just beginning to open up to her counsellor to be told she’d 1 session left. She only got 6 sessions which I understand our NHS is under immense pressure but maybe 10-12 sessions would be better and if less done sign them off sooner.

There is so many different reasons why someone suffers with depression, my late mum suffered with manic depression, my childhood memories of her was she was always in bed, very rarely left her room, we were taken into care because of her illness
