Anybody Using the Asda Reward App yet ?

Ask a Question

Not sure if this is national or a trial still, but would be interested to know if it worth looking into further.

I've started with it but I'm trying to understand it and see if it's on a par with the other apps and loyalty cards I have to see whose best.

stuartsmith544 I expect it will be like most of them unless you have it you will pay more.

I wish I had an Asda nearby, but even then I'm not sure I'd use the rewards app since I don't like getting out my smartphone just for that. 😐

Nectar card still feels like the best way to handle it – You get the item listed on there, the clerk scans your Nectar card, and then you get rewarded the points (varies in amount). I never used to shop at Sainsbury's although now I use them primarily for this and their great quality products (plus, they actually have employees at tills than lifeless self-checkout machines).

PhilipMarc I like the loyalty cards, always panic when trying to get my phone to do something in a busy supermarket.

I do like the quality and reductions you get a Sainsbury‘s.

I think it has only rolled out to a selected list of stores.

anonymousbuyer The more I tried to find out the more confusing it became. Probably just a case of me downloading the app and seeing what they say at my local store.

Howmuch it’s been rolled out nationwide now, it has trialled for a while in selected stores and nationwide since yesterday/today 🙂

Howmuch no problem, it’s definitely worth using, I’ve built up £3.84 in my cashpot and been using it maybe 4 weeks. I shop in Asda fairly often but not necessarily every week/always big shops and easily build that up

I'll definitely try it as have quite a few asda giftcards to use thanks to topcashback and the bonus you get when you transfer to their wallet and then use for asda giftcards. Also often use the £2 bonus on a £5 purchase to buy Asda giftcards.

BonzoBanana I must admit that is the first thing my mind went to, extra bonus on my Topcashback gift cards.

We were in a trial area so have had it a good few months and I would recommend getting it. Asda isn't even our main supermarket and I've built up about £16 and my husband has £10 on his. The only issue is remembering to scan it, as I've forgotten a fair few times and if you use self service or scan and shop the tills don't have a voice or anything flash up to remind you x

Karen331 Thank you £26 sounds like the trial was worth doing, Asda is not our main supermarket but we tend to buy petrol and do an occasional large shop for a change. Hopefully they will sort till prompts as the trial has gone national.

I am planning to download it now that it is nationwide. I saw the leaflets in my local Asda the other week but forgot about it. Looking forward to seeing what it is like.

Yes we have had it and have built up almost £20.

I usually shop in asda anyway so its been great to just scan and receive these incentives.

The best part was buying uniform and receiving £5 in my account when you spend £25.

This was my normal shopping habit so again was great to receive.

When you first spend £10 after downloading the app in the beggining you receive £3 to get you going.

sam07Thanks for the info the £5 from buying school uniform would come in handy, sounds like the might have some good offers. If you are not buying anything you would not normally buy, £20 extra to spend is a bonus with the prices increasing as they are.

Howmuch It depends on how it actually works, I've never really bothered about savings schemes before so never paid much notice, but I I saw trolley with a load of different products in it and also larger items next to it, they all seemed to have different variations of savings on them, I'll take another look next time and see how it goes. Cheers.

Yes it is good for the missions if it stuff you buy anyway but I think the star buys seem very pricy just to get 10%back other than that I have earned nearly £9 in two weeks buying the freebies of the shopping apps have helped to boost my totals with my normal food shop

I'm using it and it's really good and I do recommend it. A bit like Lidl but I think better. Money adds up more quickly. I don't look for offers but find I get some anyway with whatever I shop for. Not been on it long and got over a tenner waiting...so not bad at all 🙂

We've always shopped at Asda, haven't changed our shopping/spending habits and have made £7.50 so far. This next shop will give us another £1.50. Money for nothing!

It took me ages to get the app on my phone as first Chrome store told me my phone wasn't compatible and then I went another way round and had issues with my password - finally all sorted so will try it today as I have to do a real shop as my Tesco delivery failed yesterday (payment not working so I had to cancel it to avoid being charged for not enough items in my basket). Remains to be seen what savings I can make -let's hope it was worth all the hassle!

I saw something on fb the other day telling people to check their apps as someone people had been hacked and their money had been turned into vouchers and used by someone else. So maybe double check your app.
