Did Anyone Else Notice Hidden Messages in Game of Thrones?

Other

I am currently watching again and have seen so much more this time around. Although it is fantasy I can see George R. R. Martin took many events from real history and can't help thinking he was making a point, either that or it's pure coincidence.

There are shades of gladiator games, genocide (Pol Pot, Hitler), dictators, Spanish Inquisition, cult religions, patricide, regicide, witches doing the burning rather than being burned, even Julius Caesar's death. Good try George, but no one heeds the lessons of history, do they?

I haven't watched it yet. I like to wait until the full season is finished. I hate watching one a week. Is it good? I need to look out for the hidden messages

Hello kate1310 I think you may be confused with House of Dragon the new series which is a prequel to Game of Thrones. I have watched the first series of HOD as it was out about 2 years ago, they are now showing series 2. Like you I do not like watching weekly so that is why I am watching GOT at the moment, they do mention lots of bits about their predecessors in it. I will then watch the whole series of HOD. It is good but it took a while to get used to it at beginning of first series, new characters, new settings etc but it soon had me hooked. Matt Smith (a previous Dr. Who) has a lead role and is very good.

If you haven't seen GOT they play it over and over on Sky Atlantic if you have it.

Never watched one episode, I wouldn’t bother now either. Especially people said the ending was rubbish after spending hours of their life watching it.

LL81 I must admit it didn't live up to expectations but the journey was well worth it. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. At the time no recording facilities so I watched weekly and it was the highlight of my viewing. The theme music alone would give me goosebumps and I was so excited. The only other programme that made me feel like that was The Last Kingdom.

The handmaid's tale is the same. Everything in it has actually happened not in the same way as on screen but in someway way or another
