Ask a Question

We are thinking of going to Isle if man for a week. Has anyone ever been? Is there lots to do? What is the landscape like?

Lastly do you think it’s worth going?

I have been a few times and I’m half Manx 🇮🇲 it’s a lovely place lots to see and do visit the Laxey Wheel lady Isabella, there’s trams, the TT course, loads of wildlife including basking sharks and you can even see the Northern Lights from there as there is very little light pollution. The mountains can get really misty if you’re driving so be careful they call in Manans cloak there’s the fairy bridge too it’s magical I love it anyway

emmabeckz Which is a great area to stay? We like rural but a short drive to a restaurant or takeaway.

julie781x Its only a small Island but most hotels are in Douglas or if you are driving, there is a few out by the airport but most places to eat are in Douglas and Ramsey - The Sefton is a nice hotel or the Welbeck hope that helps

Years ago I went with my daughter. It had a place called Black Gang Chine which I have lovely photo's of her sitting in front of a giant (man made) mushroom. They also had a Cowboy Town as I recall. I was horrified when I saw on the news that it had all fallen away into the sea due to erosion. Be aware the weather can be either beautiful or a little damp and cold so pack for all weathers.
