Has Anyone Used 'Too Good to Go' App Before?
Ask a Question
A little skeptical about this app... not sure if it is worth downloading. Looks like a good initiative to reduce food waste though! Paying a small amount to buy surplus food.

I did once but paid £6 for a tiny amount of pesto pasta and a stale cake and had a jostle to get it so I stopped it that day .I have heard some great stories since so am tempted to sign up again.
I’ve not used it myself but I’ve seen loads of other people post photos of what they’ve received and been very impressed. The ones from Toby Carvery look particularly good as you get a lot of food in the roast dinner meal. The downside is you have to wait until 8-9pm to collect.
Seems it is just luck of the draw with some of the other places.
My family have tried it and had some pretty good boxes, except for the Costa one. Personally I’d prefer to go yellow label shopping and be able to choose what I buy.
I’ve never tried it but some people I know have and have always been pleased. It depends where you are
Thanks all, sounds like a bit of a hit-or-miss game. I will give that a go to see what it could offer.
You can get some good food for a fraction of the cost, it‘s a really good initiative to prevent food being wasted
Interesting idea to reduce waste, but not for me. I would not enjoy paying for food that I might not want.
I've used it a few times, I've had about 6/7 morrisons boxes. All fruit / veg / bread etc. The morrisons ones are £3.09. I think it's really good value for money. The items I wouldn't use or duplicates I give to my mum or mum in law. I'll try find a picture of one of my too good to go boxes to show
PinkElephant26 thanks you for the pictures and the info. I will see what I could get on there and try it out.
We've had some pretty good ones from Starbucks and Greggs
This is one of the last Costa bags. Not bad for £3.
TheChimp oh wow! You got lucky there. I reckon those would defo cost much more if there were full-priced.
I think it depends on where you live and where you get them from as to how good they are. I don't use it as none of the shops up here are on it.
I signed up for it but cannot make it work for me, usually it's too far away to collect. The fuel price to collect anything would outweigh any savings.
I used it three times and after each attempt I swore I'd never do it again. My Costa bag included a rock solid cake, a soggy sandwich and a packet of crisps
I tried it, a number of my orders got cancelled few hours before collection as they didn't have enough surplus food. Only had one successful bag claimed.
It's a good idea, but it seems to be very hit and miss. I think I'll stick to yellow stickers for now.
I picked up a Morrisons bag today, the reduced prices add up to about £8/9 so pretty good value for £3.9 spent. Mostly veg in mine - broccoli florets/baby potatoes/carrots/runner beans + some bread buns, loaf, 2packs hot cross buns. I would defo say give it a go.
