Apple Airpods Can Work Just as Well as Expensive Hearing Aids

In the News

I know someone who has just spent £4,000 on hearing aids and they have mentioned they are not happy with the sound quality and are thinking of returning them

So this article comparing apple airpods to moderate quality hearing aids surprised me

With the cost of living the way it is at the moment it might be worth giving them a try as an inexpensive alternative

And if they don't suit the purpose at least you can use them to listen to music as what they are meant for

Apple products are overpriced and customers pay for the brand.

Earphones can work as hearing aids, does need a smartphone and a specified app installed, though.

People can also do hearing tests at home, but if it's serious then visit a doctor.

I use this one: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobile.eaudiologia

My tests show it hasn't changed much. 🙂

PhilipMarc Glad to hear there is a cheaper alternative P, i don't use apple products myself, as you say , way overpriced

Didn't see anything wrong with it, honestly. 😐

PhilipMarc It was because a certain person decided to trash another one of my posts yet again so moderation blocked any further comments, which was the correct thing to do

It is such a shame when everyone is contributing to a post about a current topic and then another member spoils it for others

cheers

PhilipMarc you pay a premium for a premium product, you can pay more for a samsung phone and tablet than apple, but no one complains about samsung pricing as they do a cheaper not as good product as well to keep the people who are on a budget happy.

Antiwoke Its personal choice A, i only have a Samsung A70 as i won it nearly two years ago on twitter, otherwise i would go for a cheaper android phone

The same if i needed hearing aids , i would look for the cheaper option as long as i got the desired result, so i would definitely give ear pods a go before taking out finance for expensive hearing aids from a 'specialist' company

telmel i totally get it, anyone would try pods instead of hearing aids. The comment was directed at the ill informed apple hater. I was pointing out other brands have premium products, but apple haters don’t like that..

Antiwoke I think most phones are way overpriced but they have great technology , which i suppose you have to pay a premium for

telmel The issue with cheaper smartphones is the lack of security updates (they may last 6 months, 1 year, or not even that) so if you use banking apps, then you could put yourself at risk.

It never happened to me or to most, but it's something to be careful with.

Starling Bank and Chase require to use the Android/iOS app no matter what, so it's either use their app or withdraw the money and use a bank that has a desktop mode. Yes, Starling Bank does have a desktop mode page, however, it requires to scan the QR code to log in so it's not ideal at all.

PhilipMarc The only thing I could see wrong with it was the abysmal spelling perhaps indicating that the poster doesn't even read the "News" items too carefully if he doesn't know that Qatar is spelt without a U. It was directly after that the thread was locked. The locking of it had absolutely nothing to do with me.

Just realised it might have been because "he who is never wrong - whose hobby is trashing other members threads" was "having a go" at another member in the final posting.

I notice he's now blaming that member. (how typical)

EDIT: Above was replying to:

telmel When you post "non news " posts every single day (for points ) is it not a surprise that members take issue ? Or is garnering points your right ?

davidstockport I can understand your confusion, after all it is getting close to the festivities, maybe G has had one too many at the bar too , hence the mispelling

Its nice you both are appearing together on my posts again though, nothing like two bully boys to get my post locked yet again , keep up the 'good' work

Golfforall I will make you a deal, show me enough people that think the way you do and i will stop posting , thats with the exception of your associate here , would that make you happy ?

telmel It isn't my confusion THE LAST comment (which was having a go at another member) was YOURS. Then it was locked.

And for the benefit of those who can't follow this too well - the mispelling of Qatar was yours. Not Gs. How anyone can blame someone else's drinking for their own misspelling really takes the biscuit.

Image

Those who don't already know how you like to "twist things" can see the misspelling wasn't caused by Gs drinking. To accuse members of drinking too much - would get people blocked from many forums.

One reason I am posting is that I am going to attempt a serious topic (which could save many members money) and want you to realise that any interference with it - to get it locked - will not be welcomed.

telmel I have no assosiciates on here as you know very well . Rather unlike your multi /s ? I realise garnering points could be important to you which is why I am not over critical . Unfortunately I regard this site as a "Deals site" not a Voucher earning site (check my deals posts ) . You regard it , as many do , as a voucher earning site . Fair enough I'm sure we all know -Sadly - it is not a deals site it is an advertising site 😒. I will not post a deal or make a comment that does not benefit members . Could you honestly say the same ?

davidstockport Incase you havent noticed i never comment on your chat posts, possibly because there are rarely any , never mind serious ones, you only tend to make comments on other peoples ,mainly to make yourself look good, so no worries there about having them locked , i will leave that to you both , well done mission accomplished

I only use my laptop for online banking P, although i was considering installing the app on my phone for convenience

But what you say is right about security so i might just stay as i am , cheers

Hearing aids are very expensive, a cheap alternative would be a great option for my father in law, I would have to stop swearing under my breath.

Yaaawn ! Yet another "non news" post from a serial "non news " poster for points . Does the poster need this embarrassment ? Or just happy to get points ? And do Latest Deals really need such daily chat posts ,so obviously posted ,just for points 😣. Just asying ?

telmel Do you really need to post "non news " items -on a daily basis just to garner points ? If so I'm fine with it if you are so in need of Amazon vouchers ? As I''m sure so many folks are . Probably avoided you ,but this is a !Deals site" . OK I realise it is an advertising site , but you get my drift ?

telmel "Asying" was obviously an obvious "typographic error" the Y is near enough to the K for most people to realise that. It is things like calling Dolphins FISH - that need some explanation.

Of course they CAN work just as well as expensive hearing aids - but anyone reading the article will see that they RARELY DO.

davidstockport As @ telmel has had his points for a "popular comment " job done for him ? Perhaps members can decide themselves ? Wouldn't it be great if this were a "Deals site"? Am I the only member on here who only posts "Real Deals " ? And so obviously a dozen a month , not 3 a day !

I want Latest Deals to be a "Go to " Deals site , not the points earning advertising site it has become -but that's just me i realise 😒

Golfforall Seriously ??? I never asked for you two to bump up my post for points or any other reason , you both chose to do that yourselves , instead of discrediting me you are unintentionally benefitting the situation

You need a new strategy
