Has Apple Been 'Pipped' by Samsung

In the News

Apparently the apple 12 is slower than every major Android phone in 5G speed test , new study shows

Samsung has come out top

Personally i have never rated the overpriced i phone, i much prefer samsung and thats what i have

The "speed difference" between the 2 is probably negligible to the regular user, it's just a means of trying to get one-upmanship over the other.

I don't understand the "iPhone v Android" arguments. There seems to be real hatred on both sides for the other brand. Why can't people understand that others just prefer one or the other?

Good for you, preferring a Samsung, although I don't think there's that much difference in price, is there? How can you say the iPhone is overpriced when the new Samsungs are all over £1,000 as well??

For the record, I have an iPhone and have never had a Samsung so can't really comment on one vs the other. I just had an iPhone when they first came out, liked it and never changed.

I agree entirely with your second point. I have an Android phone and have no desire to ever change back to using an iPhone, but hating one another and having heated arguments over inanimate objects is just plain silly and immature.

Though when I was a Windows phone user (remember that?) I must admit that I did find the "android vs iPhone" debate an entertaining one.

I class my phone as a "functional " item , not a fashion accessory (a boring case in case I drop it ) . I am perfectly happy with my Motorola I bought for about £140 2 or 3 years ago , and have on SIM only .

It does far more than I know how to use , and press a few buttons I can talk to anyone in the world !

Trouble with phones these days is they are sold "on contract" , so much a month , then upgrades after a year or two . So much more a month !

I dare say you could get one like mine refurbed for about £50 , a £6 a month sim and you will have saved yourself £40 -£50 a month !

To be honest G, the samsung i have, an a70 , i won, as were the 2 previous phones i had , one an alcatel the other a samsung galaxy note which i still have and it takes some of the best photos of all the phones i have had . I just wouldnt pay the full price for any new phone , be it a samsung or i phone

My wife has the latest i phone and swears by them , but had to take out a small mortgage to buy it, as shes not on contract

Both have advantages and disadvantages , but i just dont like the way apple treat their customers over the years, removing features , faulty updates that slow the phone down, etc etc and their attitude just seems arrogant

I very rarely use the internet on my phone, only to connect on whatsapp mainly, otherwise i use it as a phone used to be used , to make and receive calls oh, and of course , taking photos and video

Iphone is over priced compared to Samsung??

It says this on google S

Looking instead at price per GB of storage of conventional designs, Apple is easily the more expensive brand. ... So basically, Samsung is more expensive, but only when it has screen tech, or a storage capacity that no iPhone can match.

So it depends how you look at it cheers

I personally think that all Apple products are overpriced for what you get. It's the same with Dyson, Beats, GHD and many others.

I visited a Samsung store before lockdown and I was impressed by it - impressed by all their products EXCEPT their smartphones lol

Phones seem to be a status symbol for many they seem to relate the phone they own to how successful they are. As ever premium products are often very poor value and only marginally better for a huge increase in price. If you have the disposable income to waste on such phones then its yours to waste. It's amazing how many people buy such products on credit though and actually have gone into debt to own such items.
